i read that most ps3 games are in 720p, and that the ps3 doesnt work in 1080i er somthin? im gettin a ps3 soon, and probably and HD tv sometime after, should i get a 720p or a 1080i? note, i dont need a big screen thing, an average sized one is wat i needscooder
Well, if you're going to get an HDTV, get one that displays in 1080p. However, if that's not an option, either buy a 1080i TV that supports 720p or just buy a 720pHDTV.
Most, (but not all) games are in 720p. Many, (but not all) 720p HDTV support 1080i as well. You will probably perfer to game in 720p, and watch Blu-ray in 1080i. The last time I checked, Blu-ray movies didn't support 720p, only 1080i or 1080p. Because of this, I would make sure your TV supports up to 1080i, even if its native 720p. FYI, if your going for a smaller screen (wenzkeif i was goin for a smaller screen, what??
true 1080p tvs are going down in price pretty quick
i got mine for 1500 for a 56inch LCOS
and for a screen that like 56 you donotice the vast improvements in 1080pcompared to 720p. you even notice that 1080i looks better with the native 1920x1080 because 720p gets stretched
but i thinkanything modest sized like under 37inches it dont matterif its 720 or 1080

If you mean Component cables then the highest resolution you will get is 480P. The PS3 is HDCP compliant. Blu-Ray disc (games and movies) will only display in higher resolutions like 720P, 1080I, and 1080P with an HDMI cable. If you can get HDMI instead that would be your best choice.
