[QUOTE="clarkportmanken"]i'd go with mgs4 or gta4 on a technical level killzone 2 just uses a lot of "artistic" trickery to hid its blemishes and physics and a.i. aren't anything special most of all thats scripted. CanadianCR
 Best post ever .. never laughed so hard .. GTA4, pppfffffffffff ..
Scripted? man your so off, they act differently almost everytime, yes they come out the same way, but they preform differen't tactics a lot and they definately keep you on your toes, it's better than most games. And KZ2 doesn't use TRICKERY they use real MOVIE quality style techniques that no other dev uses, that's how they got their amazing graphics. Obviously not the whole game is perfect theres small bad details here and there, but the game is really well done and the graphics are amazing throughout.
I'd say Killzone 2, Uncharted or LBP.

you understand what scripted as in most of the physics are scripted pre-backed . and yes the a.i. to some degree too they do the same things over and over again they have a few scenario they can go through. its not the worst or best a.i. ive seen. i too would add lbp up there for visual and physics and extra point for art design and another one for creativity.yes killzone2 uses visual trickery the only thing that set it apart from other games are its mind blowing post processing effects which mask were they took a lot of detail out there is no aliasing in the game it actually uses a weird technique i've never seen before. plus a lot of recycled texture and the monotone art design really helps with the aliasing as well.
if you want to see what i mean by trickery ( i mean it in a good way) compare the original trailer to the last trailer or the game itself and youll see what im talking about clever camera angles and focusing on few things rather then trying ot make everything look good works well for the game.
first of all i can't argue that you never saw the same thing twice but they repeated there action alot when i played the game. also i mean visual trickery in a good way i think it a sign of a good developer when they get creative like that as upposed to just using the raw power of the ps3. ingunity advances and developer who just use the raw power stale devleopment int my eyes. so its a compliment

Concurred
technologically :
Eye of Judgment : incredible use of the PSeye to identify cards and make the cards battle, online is fluid
Technologically I would have to say Little Big Planet is incredible.
Flower is something you have to play to understand the art direction.
Killzone graphics are absolutely fantastic, Uncharted environment effect (especially water) is second to none and MGS4 choreography, character models are something to remember.
Those are games that come to mind.
I don't think this game is the most advanced but i think it's worth a mention and thats starwars force unleashed. I liked how the tree's, steel and environment as a whole reacted. So i guess i'm a fan of that new physics engine that it was showing off.
Mgs4 was great in every way but, if i had one complaint it would be that it doesn't have enough replay value. Valkaria chronicles was a sweet combination of rpg and 3rd person shooter and also deserves to be on this list.
gotta disagree pal, ive played thru 6 times. still trying to get all the different emblems. still finding new things, the podcasts u can dl every couple of weeks reveal things about the story and inside info. there are weapons that i still need to procure, different ways of playing each time, like being stealth or being a shooting machine.. definitely alot of replay value, imo of course.Mgs4 was great in every way but, if i had one complaint it would be that it doesn't have enough replay value. I don't know maybe i missed something but when i replay the game the enemies are in the same position. I was wondering if there were easter eggs or a way to diversify the experience but from what i observed only tuning the difficulty would add to the game play. I'm going to check out the podcast thing your mentioned though. I was hoping that there would be more to the ending like something happening to snake after a certain period but i haven't seen that yet. Don't get me wrong, it will never leave my collection i just wish i could change up the gameplay so that it still offered alot of surprise while trying to progress the story.Mgs4 was great in every way but, if i had one complaint it would be that it doesn't have enough replay value.
