Most uneven graphics? = resistance 2

I played and loved resitance 1, R2 is also fun, but i hear a lot about how R2 is a downgrade in terms of graphics compared to R1.

The theory being that in R2 they had to accomadate the huge scale, so they cut down on basic scenery textures (ie bland cars, etc)....however, that doesnt make sense b/c although the Leviathian and Maurader are HUGE and have amazing sharp graphical detial,...they are only present in like 2% of the game. SO that cant be the reason for the downgrade in R2.

R2 was a great game. It just made a wrong turn in how they narrated the story, since doing so many coops may be tiresome to some. But the rest is amazing in my opinion.

A consistent 30fps rate with no drops. 50+ enemy AI's on the screen, with explosions, fires, etc. The draw distance was amazing to.

If we want to judge R2 from a technical point of view, its a really great success. If you factor all the variables the end result is more than satisfactory. But people prefer corridors as in Killzone or Gears with a low DD and 5-10 enemies at once.

I never noticed it looking worse than the first.

Like what? Aside from the lack of coop story and narrator, every other aspect is much better than in R1. Bigger online, leveling system, perks, multiple skins, amazing coop campaign, 0 lag. Seriously, are you hating just for the sake of it?

Resistance 2 was a great game no doubt about it. I had a blast with it when it came out, but wasn't as hooked as I was when the fisrt part came out.

It also needed a better campaign too, but the multiplayer is good.

R2 was an asome FPS game. I don't get why a lot of people complain about it. And the graphics in that game are fine, not the greatest, but I see no problem in them.

Imo R2 was a great game. I thought the graphics looked fine.

I enjoyed R2 around the same a R1. Enjoyable shooters, with an interesting story.

My biggest gripe with R2, was those invisible one hit kill creatures. Those were just trial and error scenerios most of the time. Because, when you see them, they are right at your face, and you are dead. If you try and hear them, while constant chatter over the radio is going on, well...

They need to remove those creatures from the next game.

ahhh, this somes it up right there. It's not that i'm downlplaying R2, it's also that R1 was JUST THAT GOOD when it came out. I agree with this, I did feel Utah was done with minimal effort, but the alien spaceship was truly amazing.

Man thank God you said it I was about to think I lived in a paralel world , R1 for SP/R2 for MP and R2 graphics are indeed way better than R1's

I remember the spaceship graphics to be pretty poor. Those levels needed like 16x anti aliasing.

I like it when it looks smooth and clear. Not with mousetraps everywhere.

I can see why a lot of people complained about the graphics, but all of their gripes are about the small details of the game. The character and enemy models were done great. The problems I saw were the same ones I'm pretty sure were addressed in the GS video review. The water falling on you and just disappearing and the plant textures were just ugly. Other than that the graphics weren't a problem. My problem was that I felt like I was mislead when it came to the Coop experience. I was under the impression that it was going to have more of a campaign feel to it instead of what it was.

Resistance 1 also had a levelling system, multiple skins and 0 lag. I enjoyed R1's online much more than R2's; the levels were much more interesting and more fun to play, while R2's online, while having more players, most of the levels were pretty drab and there is less customisation in unranked games (no more melee only matches:()

I thought Resistance 2 looked pretty nice overall in terms of graphics, not bad or great but definitely acceptable. There was one thing which looked terrible though - the blood. I'm surprised the game was released with blood like that, it looks quite embarassing to me. It looks like orange paint.

R2 is awesome, i love co-op

I seriously do not understand why people hate on R2? Given the scale of the game R2 looks amazing.

Resistance 2 is one of the games that I have enjoyed most for the PS3, and I thought the graphics were great. I don't understand why people have such a problem with it.

Horrible story mode.

I loved R2. Sure it isn't the best looking game on the system but it isn't ugly either. The multiplayer modes were great with 60 player battles being madness! New co-op was nicely done as well. Can't wait for R3.

Some areas in R2 looked great, but some were laughable and had awful textures, and gore animation
