You could try out the demo for monster hunter, but if I remember correctly The Sims for psp is downtoned from the PC versions.

I have not played Monter Hunter, but I did enjoy The Sims 2 on PSP. It's really laggy and different from the other Sims though.

The Sims 2 has really terrible load times and lag-- though I don't know how much of an improvement it might have with being on a memory stick or a UMD. Probably not a big difference I'd guess; so with that said I would have to recommend Monster Hunter Freedom United. At least try the demo first to see if it's your cup of tea. Though I have to admit I played the demo first and I hated it, but got the game anyway and enjoyed the actual product.

I would probably say the same thing, it's worth checking out and it'll keep you busy for months.
