I would like to think I'm not trolling, but the Sixxaxis motion sensing feels, kind of tacked on. Granted, I've only tried playing with them in Motorstorm (Awesome game), and the regular controls are much more preferable and enjoyable IMO. This is why I'm worried about Lair: I have a feeling the controls wont be as bad as some claim, but for some (me) there undoubtedly will be a steep learning curve. Once mastered, I'm sure the game will be playable and fun, but I suppose it'll leave some players yearning an alternative. I think the only way that motion sensing works well, is if the control is entirely devoted to it (Wii).

OT: How many people prefer playing Motorstorm with the motion sensing controls?

i kind of agree with teh tacky sensor on motorstorm, but that's easily fixed with practice. were you in the warhawk beta? because i thought the motion controlls in that game were top notch :D so i think you should just wait till you say the motion controls are bleh.

Nah I haven't had the chance to play warhawk *Not sure if I'm interested in it or not). From what users have said, and common knowledge, some games should control well, or well enough: While others may feel tacky/difficult.

Wonder if GTA 4 will use Motion Control for anything?

I actually use the motion control in Motorstorm(when I play single player). I am almost as good with it as the joystick now. Using it in first person view is really fun once you get used to it. The motion controls are impossible on motorbikes though :(.

Actually, I think motion controls on any console just aren't worth it, so I'm glad it's only an additional feature for the PS3.

The motion sensing wont work as good on certain games. try play on games like flOw, then you'll see how great it is.

I don't mind the motion senors if it adds to the game. I don't want to rely on it as the main part expect in games that it is designed for ie warhawk and lair, which are flight style. Motorstorm. didn't like the motion in it, I prefer the defult.

I didn;t mind it in GRAW2 demo. You can set what you want for mostion. I like the rolling and other tweaks - it felt more natural. Tht is where I think the six a xis will do best. In support or enhancing regular controls.

I kind of have to agree, at least as far as using Motion Sensor for major parts of gameplay. I kind of like it as an addition (cutscene controls, camera controls, that sort of thing), but relying on it formajor parts of the game...

I guess I'll have to be open minded and try it out. I didn't like shoulder buttons when they came out either, or the right analog. Change isoften difficult.

i agree i don't like the sixaxis either and i tried it in warhawk and motorstorm just thought it didn't work. the biggest problem i have with it is that the controllers is a rumble controller the design of it the boomerang, ridiculous as it was, was better suited for it.

im not getting lair for one reason though they are trying to shove the sixaxis down your throat how hard would it have been to give the option to use the analog controller instead. i have no problem with sixaxis as long as they give people the option to turn it off.

people who like and dislike the sixaxis should both have an option is all im saying, and i think thats fair.

I think motion sensing can bring innovation in game-play, however, so far it hasn't been put into good use. Right now, motion sensing for the PS3 is quite limited and Developers are not being innovative enough with it. Thta's why I think people are deterred to use the motion sensing since developers are also deeming it as an additional feature rather than a major part of gaming control for the PS3.

Take Kojima's MGS4 for example, Kojima is putting the motion sensing into good use there. Using it to lean, camera movement while in first person view, controlling a little robot, shaking enemy for useful item, shaking it to return your Octocamo back to normal at an instant etc...Who knows what else it will be use for in MGS4.It shows that, with a bit of thinking, motion sensing on the PS3 can be done right and adds to the experience and add to the entertainments value. Sixaxis control doesn't have to be limited to just driving games or flying games.

i don't know if its been said as i didnt read all the comments, but the motion sensor works better in motorstorm on 1st person view, sucks in 3rd person. but still i agree not that good, but you can't judge from one game. i think they haven't got it right soo far, but doesn't mean they won't ever.

This is just like when the analog stick 1st was revealed. Most people didn't like it and continued using the arrows (myself included) until they needed to adjust to this new way of controlling, because there were some PS2 games that were "analog stick exclusives".

I beat if all driving games used ONLY the motion sensing, people would get used to it.

I'm not too fond of sixaxis myself in most games. I might find a use for it in later games, but right now I don't like it.

Edit: I just forgot Warhawk. It made good for flying anyways..
