I'd go with Motorstorm , Great Career mode and amazing Online mode(don't know what GS meant with their review about online) make this better for me .

Despite GT having no career mode which isdisappointing, the racing and drifting cars is still very fun. I'll get both :D
I've got both - been playing MS since the 18th and have reviwed it - think it's brilliant. Only got GT today and the box is still sealed so don't want to vote just yet!!
Apples, meet Oranges.
And by that I don't mean to sound snotty... what I mean is they are both good games, but why try to compare two games which are so fundamentally different? One is a sim, the other is arcade. Room for both in my opinion. But hardly two games in the same class. "Arctic" vs. the new NFS, perhaps...
Yeah man... I editted my statement. Thought it was a little harsh after gettin out of the shower and reviewing. I just don't wanna go to work tonight because I have my copy of GTPSP... work gettin in the way of ma gamin!!!
Want to say Motorstorm, but I haven't played GT yet, so technically I really can't.
Still, Motorstorm is an awesome racer, the online is phenomenal.
Pulled quite a bit of my hair out deciding between the two, (can only afford one for now), and I'm extremely satisfied with AE.
It's literally Pacific Rift in the palm of your hand. And that, my friends, is most excellent..
I say they're BOTH good racers for their own independant reasons... and it's a good time to be a PSP racing fan!!! :D GT is a good title, don't let all of the nay-saying sway you if you like the series. There's a career, they just don't call it that.
Super easy win for MOTORSTORM!!! I don't understand how gamespot gave both games the same score... Not the first time they screw up a review... I mean motorstorm has a carreer mode and online play, the other one has none of that... Just don't get it...

Gamespot was being more fair. Look at 1up? They gave GT the bigger score and gave Motorstorm a B- which is equivalent to a high 6! :|
It depends on who's reviewing I guess. I mean IGN gave Motorstorm a 9 while they gave GT a 6.

If you listen to the podcast from this site, you will hear the hosts say often that a review can come from someone who doesn't really have any fandom of the series or the genre of a given game. I tend to listen more to the average gamer when critiquing a title... so the average Joe saying "Motorstorm" rocks carries a lot more weight with me.
As for GT, here's a guy (me) who is a vet of the series, has played ALL of the GT titles down the line, and I say that GT PSP is a whalin' game despite the "lack" of a properly labeled career mode. GT PSP is full of unlockable content and lots of races, cars, etc. etc. and it is a really well-done addition to the GT family. People who aren't fans love to point out how slow Polyphony was to get this title to the market, but those of us who've been buying their titles for years know that it's like Blizzard and their "Starcraft" series - It'll be finished when it's finished and that's that, despite the fact that it may tick you off to have to wait. The fact is, that when PD's game hits shelves, it's going to be a game of quality thatthe company can be genuinely proud of and the consumer will be genuinely happy with.
I'm looking forward to being able to afford a copy of "Motorstorm" because I'm a racing junkie... I love arcade racers like NFS, "Burnout", "WipeOut"... and I love sim racing like "NASCAR" and "Race Driver", so I'm super glad to finally have my GT PSP. I honestly think that people need to PLAY GT PSP before decrying it as junk or ascribe it a "lack of features". That's simply not true no matter what you read on the internets or a gaming rag at the news stand. If I had gone by every review I had ever read, at least 50% of the games on my shelf wouldn't be there, and I would have missed out on some titles that (to me) are a tremendous amount of fun.
Don't trust other people to make the final decision for you - Be an individual, and make your own assessments, listen to other gamers, bounce stuff off them (Jasondoto is a good one to list details and does a good job of thoroughly & holisticly rating a game's good points and bad), but ultimately, do what's in your heart.
I personally think because Gran Turismo is such a "simulator", it should stick to the bigger console. Get the steering wheel out and truly game the way the game is supposed to be played (personal opinion).
MotorStorm is a very good arcader and can be played on any platform.
Both are the same - the BEST games for psp. But I think that motorstorm is very interesting and short, while GT is opposite.
I go with what Ston3henge said and I agree with him. but to put on a side note: The New NFS Shiftis a simulation racing game and not like the series trademark Arcade racing. However, If I had to choose I would go with Motorstorm but thats only because I prefer an Arcadey racing game, but its hard to compare the 2. While both are racing games, they way they play diffrent, feel diffrent, and every diffrent games. Its comparing Street Fighter to Soul Calibur. Street Fighters takes alot more practice due to its combos and more advance feel. If you were to compare the 2 games, while both fighting they are very diffrent.Apples, meet Oranges.

Yeah been awhile, anywayd would have made more sense to Compare GT to NFS Shift. Im not sure how good NFS is on the PSP but thier console versions good great or excellent reviews from everywhere. I can't say that for myself though as I haven't tried it on the psp or the full game. I tried a demo on a friends xbox.Ston3henge beat me to it :( but the two games, while both racing, are, as Ston3henge said, very different. GT is a sim while Arctic Edge is more arcade. So, many people will not be voting on which is REALLY the better game, they will be voting based on which style of racing they enjoy more.

Apprently they changed the PSP verison and for the PSP it is an Arcadey racer.as a long time fan of Gran turismo, i'll have to go with it. even without the carrer mode it looks like a very good racing game.Solar_Eclipse13
The single player GT is basically like working your way up on each track. Once you beat the race you are "upped" a class... beginning with D Class then C Class etc. and each group of drivers gets progressively harder to beat. So in other words, you play Apricot Hill at least four times to achieve "A" status gaining cash for each win or placing, and then you can buy cars with the cash. There are license tests but these are not required like in other versions of GT (at least not as far as I have played).
The game runs so nice, and it really does feel and look like a member of the series. A great racing title and I can't recommend it enough. I'll be buying the others, but GT has my heart! Bless the folks at PD for finally issuing it. Collecting the cars is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. The system seemed messed up from reviews, but I find myself hurrying back to the dealership page just to flip through and check out all the rides in detail, and figure out which one I wanna unlock next... as with all other GTs, the info on each car is staggering.

how many cars you got so car ston3henge?I've been frugal... I've bought five already but I'm saving my cash for some hotter rides - The classically painted blue & read Ford GT40 that stepped right out of a Le Mans pictorial, for one. I about plotzed when I saw that car sitting in the "showroom". Waiting for that BMW dealer to get off their *** and show up to market, too!!! :D
I played this game until my battery wore out last night, a full-charge session. The more I play the more addicted I am (waiting for it to recharge right now so I can take it to my usual 'Monday at the Movies'day). As usual, we faithful are a little more inpressed than some reviewer who's editor saddled them with playing the game. Typical. I have faced the same problem with people reviewing "NASCAR" games over the years ("What's so fun about turning left all the time?" and other ignorance). I have read reviews in the past where reviewers kick off the article by stating that they hate race games which make you use the brake... well, here you need to use the brake, the manual shifting, and do a bit of ride set-up in order to compete on the higher classes. There's a tremendous amount of depth here, and being able to keep 30 cars on your edit-list is fantastic!!!
PS - The license tests may not be mandatory, but they pay VERY well.
