I think the score was fair. It lacks modes, and tracks. It's a fun game, but not an outstanding game.

I would suggest you watch the video review at gametrailers.com. The scored pretty much the same as GS. It is justifiable the score it got I think.

There is very little offerings in the single player mode, no split screen (yet) Very few courses (8 if I recall) So I am not surprised it scored what it did.

If they had more tracks available, a better fleshed out single player mode it would have done a lot better than it did. Sure Motorstorm had the best graphics of any racer yet, but Great graphics alone are not enough to make a game a 9 - 10 title.

It didnt get a better score because the Sotry mode is bland and theres no offline multiplayer... See Gamespot shouldnt compare a Racing game sotry to something like Resistance becausr thats just dumb... No other racers have good stories but there 8.8+GloverD

Having cool special effects and dirt/dust build up on your screen doesn't mean a game should score higher or even score high at all. Don't pretend to know a single thing about game reviews in general when spewing vomit such as that out onto message boards. Graphics is one aspect of a game and a small portion of a review.Coldplay07

Seriously though im not saying they are biased, but it seems hard for a game to get a deserving score on this site. I think games should be compared to other games in their genre

LOZ got an 8.8 but in comparison to what other action adventure at the time? Nothing compares right now.

MGS3 got an 8.7. Everything about that game was amazing, and its still better than most games out today.

FFXII got a  9.0 which isn't bad at all. But anyone who plays RPGs regularly will tell you its a behemoth of a game.

So then ask what is it that they compared Motorstorm to, to come up with its score?

Then you get games on the "other console" like a short 3rd person shooter that is in no way innovative, or impressive that could have easily been done on an older system w/out the flashy graphics and its OMG!!!!! 9.6 GOTY OMG!!!

Im sorry but when I can beat a game on a weekend rental, that doesn't do anything new but technically pretty graphics(artistically puke graphics), and isn't even worth a replay. I don't think it deserves OMG!!!!! 9.6 GOTY OMG!!!

It should have gotten at least an 7 or 8 in value. I mean take for example GRAW, another game with a supposedly short single player and an impressive mulitplayer got a 9 in value!!! Medal of honor, which seriously had a 3 hour short single player and a somewhat good multiplayer got an 8 in value... And motorstorm should have gotten at least a 9 in tilt, it's a really fun game regardless of how short/shallow it kind of is...

Here is the bottom line... What is the fun factor like?  To me the fun factor is cranked up to 11!  Sure the game lacks some content that other racers have, but which is more fun, Need for Speed, Ridge Racer, Project Gotham racing, or Motorstorm?

To me Motorstorm beats all!  I have had more laugh out loud moments and just pure hydranaline rushes of joy with this game over any other. 

Bottom line is...Motorstorm is one of the funnest, if not THE funnest racing game out there to date.  I have played mostly all of them, and this one paints a smile on your face every 5 seconds of every race.

GO MOTORSTORM!!!!  Don't give into the reviews, pick this game up and play it!  It is a must have for any PS3 owner.

It was fun for me, maybe about the first 30 minutes, but after that I just got bored with it, it doesn't have the staying power of a GT, Forza, or Mario Kart.acekicka

Why do you care what a game gets for a review score. Do you like the game? If so then good. Don't let other people make a choice for you. If you like something then so be it. Shouldn't you be playing the game instead of griping about the score it got?mfarris2006

This is the most insightment and mature comment I have seen. It is all about what is fun for the individual! There are so many ridiculuous comments by zit-faced immature fanboys on many forums that a comment like this is overdue and refreshing. It points out what drives my methodology in assessing games... what do I like? I utilize web reviews like gamespot as a general guide, not the gospel. NO ONE, not even a professional, can tell me what "pushes my buttons".

I play on a high-end 50" HDTV with excellent surround sound setup. Wonder how many fanboys even know what hdmi is or have set up their own wireless network. Our own personal opinions are the only thing that REALLY matters, no matter how founded in fact they may or may not be. Others' opinions are of little concern when I pick up the controller.

Now this is where the beauty of HOME comes in. We can now have PS3 user reviews. Reviews done by solely PS3 gamers world wide and should give a better view of how good/bad a game is for people who just prefer PlayStation games. :D
