I've had a PS3 for the last month or so and in that time I've got hooked on MotorStorm. Why? Let me count the ways:

1. Presentation - it looks absolutely fantastic. It's one of the best looking games I've ever seen, with dramatic rock formations, mud and scores of vehicles tearing it up all over the place. Seeing the drop on Black God Mesa for the first time is a real 'woah' moment. It also has a brilliant soundtrack - Spiritualized, Primal Scream and Wolfmother. Awesome.

2. Exciting - this game really reminds me of Burnout 3. The races are so intense, with other racers using alternate routes, flying above or around you. It's great to see them crash through their own mistakes - it can be really chaotic at times. It's also great fun to boost to the finish line, before exploding and propelling yourself past the chequered flag. Brilliant.

3. Variety - while there aren't a huge amount of courses, they're all well designed, with lots of different routes to use. The different vehicles are fantastic too.

MotorStorm is a great arcade racer that really gets the adrenaline going. I'm about halfway through the game now and I'm still loving it. But it doesn't seem to get the appreciation it deserves. Why is that? What do you think of MotorStorm, and why do you think it doesn't get talked about more?

Let me preface this by saying I've only played the demo. And... I'm not really into racing games to begin with. But I found the demo fun, in shorts spurts. I couldn't imagine myself getting so into it I played for hours at a time. Yes, the soundtrack was cool, but the course I played on was rather short.

And from the media on the game, those were the main complaints -- too short (what are there, 5 tracks?), not enough variety. Decent online, but unfulfilling single player.

I suppose the important thing is that you love it.You may be the demographic for the game, or it just clicked with you. But those arethe reasons I've gathered.

MotorStorm is indeed great. But it lacks the damn offline multiplayer! I like MotorStorm and I'm not into racing games, so it means MotorStorm is very good :o

I'm sure Motorstorm would have get AAA status if only it had 3 more courses that aren't desert like and offline multiplayer and just a bit of shorter loading times.

Motorstorm is great fun especially if you learn the motion controls, you simply won't be able to go back to racing with sticks. I kind of got tired of Motorstorm because I played it to death. The lack of splitscreen kills me but the game is a great time and looks amazing. I can't wait for Motorstorm2 in 08. Hopefully they will expand the mode set.

the load times are what really killed motorstorm imo, and the 2 or 3 tracks that were really small like coyote rage or mudpool, i don't think it was more than an 8.4. its alot of fun though, despite the amount of gameplay. i would have also like to be able to set up a custom race.

I have to agree this is one of the most fun i've had with a racer before. Although it does have it shortcommings (poor audio options, poor load times, no splitscreen) it's still easily the best racer out for the PS3 IMO. Like you said it looks fantastic and the gameplay is just there. Chaotic races make you always feel like you can't hit anything and need to be on top of your game. Great game.

i myself dont' use offline multiplayer that much, but i guess its good if the option is there. There aren't near enough tracks. 5 is way to short.

No offline multiplayer. Thats all there is to it. Thats the whole reason why I don't want it anymore.

motorstorm simply lacked a lot of features. Otherwise, it would have scored much higher. The gameplay in itself is phenomenal.

I agree motorstorm does lack credit, it's visuals are stunning this game is the game i use to show off the ps3's power to my xbox 360 fan boy mates . lets just say they don't like it .......

a larger music soundtrack and a few more tracks would have toped it off real nice. and where did that "in car view" go? we all saw it in the demo video remember the windscreen wipers cleaning off the dirt that looked crazy!

i think they cars feel a little bit to light and the ground textures can looked very streched but if you go above it you see what they have done lol

good game but im expectin the next game to bust my balls wide open =D
