Who else bought Motorstorm and absoloutly loves it? I got it today and played some single player campaign. I was amazed at what I saw. You really need an HDTV and an HDMI cable to appreciate the graphics, I tried it on my HDTV via HDMI then switched to a crappy SDTV and WOW, there is a HUGE difference. I don't care what anyone says about Motorstorm and its flaws, it's a great game, off and online. Anyone thinking about buying it, buy it now, don't pay attention to the 7.9 score G$ gave it. It certainly deserves better, like IGN, they gave it a 8.9, which is what it really deserves. If anyone wants to play me online my name is Chim3ranKill3r. See you on the track!MetalHead_PS3Yeap I bought it today also and it is damn fun to play I would rate it an 8.4 due to the flaws here's to hoping they introduce more tracks soon.
Yeah they will probably add new tracks later on. Just like Resistance, they are adding new maps in a few weeks. I can't wait for the new maps.MetalHead_PS3I have to finish Resistance first I mean after all I just got my PS3 yesterday. And I have to shop around for anwireless router.
I know there is a shortage for great PS3 games right now, and people are still all amazed with next gen graphics, but to me, this game was a significant letdown. For all the hype, it fell way short. When it boils down, it's not much more than a dressed up Flat Out.Â
Don't get me wrong, it's got some real high points, the way you can alter routes with varrying vehicles and just the fact that you can take on a Semi with an ATV is pretty awesome, the physics and graphics are mostly top notch, but that's it. The game is ridiculously short, I mean the track variety and number of tracks is lousy, even with multiple variations, it get's old after not all that long. The lack of offline multiplayer really killed me. Basically the game isn't very user friendly either, it's cumbersome to pick it up and just run a race of any type, you have to usually fiddle around with the tickets menu to get where you want.Â
The sixaxis use was decent but not great. Overall I just think anyone that thinks this game deserves a 9 or better, is too caught up in the graphics and the physics. They are fun to watch, but they don't make a great game, let's face it, there are better functioning racing games out there with far more variety, they may not look as good, but still. I think it deserved the 7.9. I'm not sorry I bought it, but I'm not really pleased with it either, I don't think it offers nearly 60 bucks worth of quality gameplay, and for somebody that doesn't have the ability to use the online Multiplayer, this game is borderline useless, because you can beat the campaign and race on every track in an afternoon.Â
