MP3s not supported - voice your opinion at Playstation.com

We all need to let them know that we won't stand for this. I can't begin to describe how pissed I am. If you feel the same, make a note about it on their forum.

Hoping they resolve this quick. It's a feature heavily used when we host game nights. Would be disappointing if PS4 is less capable than PS3 in regards to media capability.

I did so on the blog. I am actually very disappointed. I used the Ps3 as a media player and as a server. It was nice to simply play music in the background while having a photo slideshow play. Screw being disappointed, I am actually pissed.

@NeverMore0: Absolutely inexcusable. Why would you remove the feature? Not to mention the whole you can only share videos on facebook thing.

I don't use Twitter, but it seems people are getting a campaign going using #PS4MP3.

And I read a great point someone made. The Vita has more media capability than the PS4. How crazy is that.

no media server also??? I wrote on the link above, with very valid arguments like Music Unlimited having only a commercial selection, thus not metal, not 80s music, not sure any classical music ...

It doesn't really affect me, since I keep all my music on my computer. But people do use PS3s for music, so this is a genuine step backwards. No MP3 support, railroading users into a music service that requires payment, and said service being ran by Sony - it all adds up to two words:

Money. Grab.

The Mp3 and External harddrive to me doesn't affect me, plus I can easily just buy a 2TB drive for it and swap it, then sell the 500Gb for some profit, my problem is the no DLNA support from the get go I use DLNA very often, even my cellphone and tablet have DLNA, BUT we also don't know if they will allow Apps for the console maybe they will enable 3rd party apps tro their PS Store.

Even though I'm still getting the PS4 I TOTALLY agree with you!! During the week I mainly use the PS3 as a media-hub(music,streaming,pictures)because the weekend is the only time I get to game.

I was planning on making the PS4 the main console in the living room....looks like now it will be going in the bedroom!

I voiced my opinion. I could care less. Never used it anyway. I just want to play fun games. But sorry some of you are pissed....

It's not really mp3's that im upset with, I have airmusic app on my iphone, so I can stream music to my console and play games with custom soundtracks (pretty much only with 360 though, PS3 only supported on the xmb, not in game). What this did cause me to do is buy all racing games on the Xbox 360 so I can override the crappy soundtrack.

Custom Soundtracks are good for Racing, Sports and fighters. For me, Racing and Snowboarding games and when I'm just blowing through arcade mode in a fighter to unlock costumes and stuff. I don't want to listen to the "Todays" stuff they shove in these games, I want my classics, I want my AC/DC and Ozzy as they are usually never in a games soundtrack. I already own every album in the remastered editions, why do I have to subscribe to a music service to make custom soundtracks when I already own better quality versions. Just let me either pop in the Disc and rip it to the ps4 or let me stream it from my PC in MP3 format (or from my iphone with airmusic).

Luckily, I have a home theater setup, so I can figure something out by splitting audio.
