I'm going to be getting a PS3 tomorrow, and was wondering if there are any accessories that I need to have, to either make gaming more fun or to maintain my PS3.

What I'm talking about are accessories that aren't shipped with the 80gb, like HDMI cable, system intercooler or a second controller(although waiting for the DualShock3 is probably a better idea). Any other suggestions for useful peripherals are welcome.

You don't need an intercooler, you do need another controller, a micro fiber cleaning cloth would be useful, and an HDMI cable (which can be bought for abotu 5 bucks on newegg.com) if you'll be playing on an HD display. Also, I would probably get the Playstation Eye because it's pretty cool how you can take videos and pictures, use it as a mic, and edit the media you capture with special effects. It also has some games and some more games coming out for it.

Definitely get a Les Paul Controller. It makes gaming way more fun. I bought one when it was released and haven't stopped playing with it ever since.

If you plan on watching movies definitely get the Sony bluetooth remote (or the aftermarket IR one if you have a good universal remote). Controlling movie playback with the game controller is pretty much unthinkable.

I'd say a headset and an HDMI cable if you own a HDTV.

You can get anything you would like or need except one of those coolers because they are just a big waste of money. Take the money you would spend on a cooler and get a Blu-Tooth headset instead.
