When I turn it on, the screen remains blank. I've plugged the cords in and not, in different spots, different channels, different TVs, different games, and everything. My dad is on the phone will someone right now. I'm really ticked off because I don't remember doing anything that would harm it. It was completely fine yesterday... It just stopped working today.

So, ugh, what should I do? Because the guy on the phone obviously has no idea what he's talking about. On the plus side, I think there's still a warranity.

By the way, don't you guys wish these companies would stop hiring stupid people? These people are more clueless than us. It's not just Sony; it's everywhere. The guys at Apple were like, "Did you try plugging the iPod into another Computer? Yes? Okay, it's defective. Go get a new one now." And I went through six iPods until something magically worked. Then my dad was getting me football cleets at this store, and he asks this moron, "Do you think my son should go with a ten or a ten and a half?" And the lady replies, "I think he should go with an eleven." Apparently I need six inches between the end of the shoe and the end of my foot, acorrding to her.

Sorry for the small rant. I'm just tired of talking to clueless people that should know more than they do.

maybe you need to reset the video/audio settings, hold the power button down until you hear 2 beeps and it resets.

Understandable, but if the PS3's only a couple weeks old then it's still under warranty for sure. You can always send it back, and yes stupid people aren't particularly good for customer service.

Why do you want to know that? So you can insult me in some way and say I'm like a twelve year old? I don't plan on telling you.

Thanks to everyone else for the help.

as long as the light turns green the system is powering on correctly so this sounds like your video settings are incorrect with what the PS3 is expecting so try that reset.

Yeah, but I didn't change anything. It was always like that. And thanks for the hard reset option. I'll go try that now.

If the unit had memory card slots, it wouldn't be a problem. Since it doesn't, a jump drive (USB) is your only option.

Ask them if you can keep the HDD and they just send you a new system, you can remove the HDD from the bottom just push it out then slide, the directions are in the safety manual.

Can you walk me through it? I know it's a lot, but I gotta do this quick. I can't find the safety manual, and my dad's being a major ass. Please help.

That's another option. I can I still get everything on there even though nothing is popping up.

I understand you don't want to lose your save data, but would you really want to keep the hard drive from a defective PS3? It may not be the problem, but I know I'd just want to start over fresh. I just wanted to add that, sorry I can't help you with removing the ps3 hard drive. Try googling it, I'm sure there's a lot of stuff on there.
