How much will it cost to repair...professionally? :) if its quite a bit less than buying a slim then its a no brainer imo

Well my unit is out of warranty. I've had it since march 07. Sony wants 150 for a repair, but I'm afraid if i send it to them, I'll receive some refurbed 80gb model or any other model that isnt my 4usb, backwards compat ps3.

They'll send you a direct replacement, well they do here in the uk. It most probably will be refurbed but it should have all the features your current system does. If you dont require the media slots, 4 usb and backwards compat then buy the slim, but if you do then get it repaired

Get the Slim. No need to pay half of what you'd pay for a new PS3 to get an old one repaired.

Buy a usb hub then... expand the 2 usb's to 5 :)

If you want to spend the extra 150ish...then go for the slim, and sell your 60...someone will buy it

Hmm.. I doubt the PS3 slim will have any overheating problems due to the lower power consumption. Although the only exhaust on the slim is on the back of the unit. More feedback please!! thanks!

Just get the Slim... If I'm not mistaken, some stores will except broken consoles as a trade-in.
