How much will it cost to repair...professionally? :) if its quite a bit less than buying a slim then its a no brainer imo
Well my unit is out of warranty. I've had it since march 07. Sony wants 150 for a repair, but I'm afraid if i send it to them, I'll receive some refurbed 80gb model or any other model that isnt my 4usb, backwards compat ps3.

They'll send you a direct replacement, well they do here in the uk. It most probably will be refurbed but it should have all the features your current system does. If you dont require the media slots, 4 usb and backwards compat then buy the slim, but if you do then get it repaired
Hmm.... Honestly, I've only played a ps2 game on my ps3 maybe 3 or 4 times since I've had it. Havent used the memory card readers in ages. But I do end up usin most of the 4 usb ports.. aARRGGGHHH i dunno..

Buy a usb hub then... expand the 2 usb's to 5 :)
If you want to spend the extra 150ish...then go for the slim, and sell your 60...someone will buy it

Who's going to want to buy a broken 60GB PS3? :?It would surprise you... who would buy a broken ipod? there are plenty of ads on ebay with bids... just did an ebay search for "broken ps3" (UK Site)
Just get the Slim... If I'm not mistaken, some stores will except broken consoles as a trade-in.Well my unit is out of warranty. I've had it since march 07.
