If you look at my past post you will see that i did post a lot of bad news about the ps3 but this post is not about bad news or making fun of it.

In the past weeks i have been making my home in to a media center plase. I have been starting to get some new hd tvs for my home and a home server to stream all my videos/pic/music to all my rooms. i use my 360 a lot for this as i have 2 of them.

A friend said if you have a ps3 and a psp you can stream all my media to a psp any ware any time. What i want to know is that is it hard to do this and can the ps3 see all my media on my pc like my 360 can or do i have to put all the media on the ps3 to stream it?.

I would love this as my work can go by slow some time and playing a video at work from my house any time would kick ass.

I would love any help.

Ps. if any one has done this. Do the video lag or look reely bad. would be good to know if im going to put $400down for a ps3 + $200 for a psp.

It's not hard to do that AT ALL. it's actually pretty damn easy. it's hard for me to explain because i'm not good at explaining things. but to answer the question about how it looks. it looks freaking good, i have the PSP Slim and what that does. (dunno if the old on does it. but i guess it do) i can turn on my PS3 from anywhere, then put on a movie. hook the PSP up to a TV where i'm at and then watch the movie, streaming from the PS3 to the PSP on to the TV. and the quality looks absolutely amazing. i don't use the media server thing, so i don't really have answers for those things. but from what people are saying. it's just the same as with the 360, you don't have to transfer them (again, i don't know. that's what people are saying)

I don't have a psp myself, so I haven't tried it personally, but I do know you can use remote play anywhere that has wifi internet access to use your psp to turn on your ps3 back home, and then stream media (music, movies, etc) to your psp. I'm not sure if it works streaming from your pc to your ps3 to your psp, or if you have to have the media on your ps3 though.

you CAN stream directly from the PC to the PS3. no need to take it FROM the PC TO the PS3. i maybe wasn't clear enough about it. but i was talking about streaming from the PC, via the PS3 to the PSP, that's the thing i don't know.

One more thing.

So if my roommate is useing the tv and then at work i power on my ps3 from my psp will it take over the tv and will he see what im doing?.

My roommate smokes a lot of pot and the last thing i need is for him to think there is a ghost in the house.

it powers on the PS3. but if he's watching TV the only thing he's going to see is the PS3 red light turning green. you won't be able to change the channel. unless the TV changes automatically when you turn on the PS3.

If he's watching tv, and has the tv turned to a different channel, it shouldn't affect him at all, unless your tv automatically switches to the hdmi (or whatever kind of input you use) whenever a signal is detected.

My TV changes automatically when i power on my 360 so im thinking it will do the same thing with the ps3 and if people want to know what happens if to many thing are on at the same time a picture in picture thing happens if thats what you call it.
