Him and I were playing the Resistance 2 beta for a few hours. It was fun and dandy, although it magically froze ( Figures, once i start doing good :P ) Than the light switched to yellow for a second or so, than it just started to flash red. It does the same pattern now ( Green to yellow to flashing red. I have heard many things of it being the HDD, maybe overheating, or its broken. We found out it's not the HDD and its currently unplugged at the moment. Any troubleshooting suggestions? Also the system was bought used from EBgames backk in Juen of 2007. It came with NO sony Warranty Sitcker. it wasn't on to begin with. Would Sony Still fix the system? Thanks for any help!Cutekitten6_18

yea i just wanted to know anyone knew any ofther things :Pmy whole outlook is if a ps3 or any console starts having problems it can sometimes be a chain reaction, lets say you get it to work and then the warranty ends and then bam more trouble or the same trouble, why not get a new one free instead of waiting to see if more problems occur later. it is messed up to be without it for a bit but in the end you have a new ps3 usually and dont have to worry about other problems hopefully
[QUOTE="Royal23"]if that doesnt work get a new BFCutekitten6_18i dont think that is going to help >__>
Yea if your under warranty, get it fixed now. If not then get it fixed anyways lol. Its rare fora PS3 to break. I have not seen one do so, except on youtube. So you should feel confident that it will be fixed ok. But yellow does mean trouble I guess. And theirs nothing you can do, once their is a true problem with anything, but fix it.

I've had my PS3 since September of last year and it has run flawlessly this entire time. It really is a well made console. Sometimes though you just get a bad one.
I had that problem with a Wii I bought last year. There was only one store in town that had one, so I drove down there, bought it and went home. I had the thing for less then 24 hours and it broke. It wouldn't take any discs in and when it did take a disc it would only go in half way and scratch the hell out of it. I returned it and got my money back. People are still shocked when I tell them that the Wii bought was DOA. Even the clerk was surprised.
Point is you might have had a ready-to-break PS3 from the start. I'd call Sony and see if you can get it fixed under warranty.
yea it is a launch model 60GB, because they are older and naturally hotter, it is most likely These would break over new ones. My BF isn't so much annoyed it broke, he's annoyed it broke palyiing Resistance 2 :PCutekitten6_18
BTW, sounds like over heating to me

Thats what we were thinking too. the Ps3 running the beta was on abotu 5 hours in a row ( Not always PLAYING the beta, but it was on in the beta menu at least ) The PS3 has been unplugged for abit over an hour now so we will try it out now[QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"][QUOTE="Cutekitten6_18"]yea it is a launch model 60GB, because they are older and naturally hotter, it is most likely These would break over new ones.
