My concept of in-game xmb

*NOTE: THIS ISN'T A REAL SCREEN SHOT. I DON'T WANT SOME IN-GAME XMB RUMOR STARTED BECAUSE OF ME. THIS IS JUST WHAT I HOPE IT WOULD LOOK LIKE!

This is done with the magic of photoshop. The background image is from gamespot found under Grand Turismo 5 Prologue. This photo is entirely made up and designed by me. I am not trying to promote blink 182, it was just the song I was listening to.

Here is what i hope comes under these menu items.

User - Able to sign in and out of different users, as well as assigning profiles to separate controllers.

Settings - Accessory settings (voice changer, etc), any other relevant settings.

Music - All the music stored on your HDD, sorted how you want (artists, albums, songs, etc), music should be playable in-game.

Game - Quit game, eject, the usual.

Friends - Message Friends, Private chat with friends (while in different games), Friends profiles (where you can see what games they've played, bio that kind of thing[which i hope PSN will get])

Hope you like what I've done and that we get in-game XMB soon with these kind of features.

If you were wondering, yes I did draw the smiley on the user icon.

oh and it can always go full screen if the room is needed. Unlike that other photoshop in-game xmb i didnt have it full screen/full size xmb because it would be to big if you just wanted to check you messeges.

Also, it has a clock!!! man, you go and ask for a job at Sony because they really need someone with your ideas!!

pretty sure its going to take up the entire screen and work just like a limited version of the regular xmb.

based on how it works for the psp.

i would suggest this to sony but i can only find 'support' contact details.

Reasons for doing things:

Half screen - simple and effective, plus it would use less RAM to run. quick to navigate.(and if you have ever used the xbox 360's is easy [not as easy as this would be] and can goes full screen when all friends are displayed)

vertical list - horizontal would take up too much room

I am going to do a friends list now. Check later and it might be up.

It looks good but personally I could care less about it "in game" as when I'm playing a game, that's all I care about and not talking to someone, checking messages, or changing songs so I really hope Sony doesn't do any of that crap and just keep it simple like it is. Let the gaming take over rather then the side show.

How about playing your own music while you play. From my understanding that is what in-game XMB will bring plus more. I love playing my own music when I play sports games like Madden or what not on my 360, can't wait till they bring that on the PS3!

yeh i could just imagine going on a rampage in GTA 4 with some heavy metal going:P

Im just doing some changes and making the messaging section should be up maybe later tonight (australian time) or tomorrow morning.

The music controls were moved to the otherside to give room for a friends list.

and a message title was put for quick access to messages
