okay, so im 15, and unemployed. all i do is hang out with my friends and girlfriend and im bored!

i asked my dad if i could go get a psp (gow deep red) and i explained how its such an amazing deal, and since hes a cheap ba$tard, he said no until i could get a job. I withdrew 280 from my bank, so now i have it in cash, ready for that day when i get a job.. my one question is, how long do you think this bundle will be out for?

thanks

Not long, considering it's heavily limited.

Just snag a job at McDonald's or something.

Well it's definatly not going to be out forever and it has ben out for a bit. But I would say that it might be out for another month at least. And if you have the money now why dont you just go buy it yourself...?

Considering it's a limited bundle I give it a few month in stores, and maybe a little longer online. I'd say by the end of the summer.

You're dad's not a cheap ba$tard for not getting you a $250 system.

Anyway, I'm sure this deal will be out for quite a while, considering the Daxter/Family Guy and Star Wars bundles were out for quite a while.

No no no, it's all my money, they don't want me spending it because i went down from 2000 to 500 in like 8 months, and i live in winnipeg manitoba, yoiu have to be 16 to get most jobs, and no i can't drive yet, you have to be 17 to drive all by yourself. my dad says the day i get a job i can get a psp, he has some retarded system of saving money, but i dont know what i want to save for, im 15 for crying out loud, ive been wanting this psp for a couple of months now

Hate to be the one to say your parents are right and only being fair. You may only be 15 but thats old enough to have/start learning about money responsibility.

I've been there about wanting stuff, I'm only 20 now and dont have a lot of money and still there is many stuff i want. But when I was 17 I had a pretty good job, made a lot of money over the summer and managed to blow it all on video games and stupid stuff that i didnt need.

While buying video games isnt bad. I was buying like 2-3 a week, before i even finish one, id buy another. I bought a lot of stuff i wanted at the time, but didnt truly need. Didnt realize how much money i spent or even that a lot of it went to waste for about a year when i started to need things and had no money left.

So i completely understand what its like to want something so bad, and technically have the money for it, but still cant buy it.(im there atm). But I still think you should listen to your parents. If they have good money management and know how to save money then you should learn from them about it.

I know it sucks, but beleive me, instead of going into debt or spending all this money and later regretting it. Its better to just spend your money right, and be tight about. With gas prices, and things costing more people really have to learn how to manage their money.

Get a job, work hard, and get a psp, even if its not the bundle at least you know you bought the right way, and once you have a job you may even start learning how to be tighter with your money as you'll see how hard it is to earn it. And within seconds it can be all gone.

i know i know, my parents can manage money and all, but i feel that i have bought enough, but i just want to get out of my routine, it's so boring, and i want to start video games again, especially GoW. This psp will also end my boredom during my spares at school

Thats completely understandable. I'd do what you can to find a way to meet them in the middle. Most parents may not be willing to negotiate. But with my parents i was always able to find a middle ground where i could make them happy and still get what i want.

I suggest, going out and doing yard work/odd jobs for people. Or find some way of making money to show your parents that you are trying to be responsible in that you understand that when you spend money, you know how to get more to replace what you have spent.

I don't see the problem. Its your own money; you should have the ability to do what you want with it (within reason).

ok first of all typing in all caps will draw mods so avoid it in the future (also welcome to gamespot) and i would recommend that you try to find a job washing cars or something along those lines, dont aim really high because your not that old and most employers would be wary about hiring someone your age

Agree. The SW and Daxter bundles were supposed to be "limited", but they have been around for a long time. I doubt that the GOW bundle will be gone very soon.

Im good at saving but i do treat myself from time to time, for example i got a White PSP slim not long back. shame there isnt any good bundles for it in europe!

You probably won't listen to this, but wait some time. It may sound pointless and you might think that you will still want it in a month, but just try it.

Every financial desicion my dad has cautioned me about but I went ahead and did it, I ended up completely wasting my money.

I've been scammed, bought pointless junk, you name it.

This is what I would do. Bother you're parents a lot. Up to the point where they're gonna beat the crap out of you. Right before you get to that point, change your aim and tell them if they put $250 or $500 or $1000 (depnds on how rich your family is) into your savings because you want to save it for [enter high priced item here]. That way, you can get a lot of money for something even more expensive like a tv, or a car, or a laptop, or college. You're parents will be like ZOMG cuz you recommended somethin smart.

Also, from what I've heard, there's a new psp coming out in the winter of this year that has built in gps and can watch blu ray movies. Just wait a bit.

Thats actually a very nifty idea MELON4372!!! I've experienced just buying abunch of junk too, thats when I learned how to save my money. I litterally save every friggin coin I get because in the long run, it allll adds up. Then you juts cash it all in and you get more money than you would think. And my birthdays in seven days and I know im gettin some money because I never ask for presents, just money. And i was planning on getting the MGS4 Bundle but thought, why dont I just wait till it's just the 80gig and they do a price drop...?:D

My advice could work or it could end up being terrible... but... I am 28. When i was 14, i was exactly like this. I always wasted my money on stuff i didn't need (I used to buy TONS of UK game magazines unnecessarily for example). Doing this, however, taught me the value of money Now I have a high paying job, and i can buy whatever i want. I don't regret what i did. It was a necessary experience for me.

My advice is... if you really want that PSP, go buy it. If it ends up being a bad decision, it is an experience you learn from. Maybe this will make you work harder later so you can buy whatever you want... etc. But repressing your needs, and projecting it as hatred and passive aggressiveness towards your parents is definitely not a healthy thing to do.

Again, the above attitude worked for me. I don't know if it would work for you as well or not. Everyone is different.

Hope this helps

I'm 17.
And because I have a part time job.
I can afford my $1600.00 Asus laptop.
Although, my parents were nice enough to pay for tax and my warranty.
Crysis here I come!

you memory stick is probably fake if it was for $5......anyways, for people that need jobs, go to your local parks or like community centers for information on jobs.....cause most big companies don't usually hire under 18....
