No, it doesn't need online. I'd like more powerful super powers... Like the ability to jump clear over a building in a matter of seconds. Instead of grinding telephone wires, you could jump high enough to grab a helicopter in the sky and control it with your electric powers... Then, once you've reached your destination, you throw the helicopter at a group of enemies and start tearing up the place :D.
You know what, i really admire sucker punch for InFamous.
Nowadays, your average gamer doesn't want a decent story, they just want to run around shooting people online.
Don't get me wrong, that can be fun, but sometimes you need nothing more than a simply epic singleplayer to make a game awesome.
Infamous, Assasin's Creed, Prototype and Darksiders.
Some of my favourite games, and NO MULTIPLAYER.
a new MP section may have worked for naughty dog, but as far as i am concerned, that is just them conforming to ways of everybody else.
Personally, if InFamous 2 appears with a multiplayer element, i will seriously consider giving it a miss.
the only thing Sucker Punch need to do, is build on the epic ending of Infamous 1
online would be a small bonus but not needed.
what has to be done is when you jump with cole, they should make so he doesnt stick so much and maybe make him a bit more powerful(more powers, better climbing, better jumping etc...)
and better graphics would be a nice touch, since they will most probably keep the same city, so to coat the city with some sugar would be nice to see...although i hope for them to change the city into some other one...
Here's a better idea: Evolve the story, give us more powers and the biggest one:
Destructible environments. It would make you (and any other supers out there) feel so much more powerful, after you destroy something say it gradually returns to normal (or rebuilds) in 7 game days. Being a good guy would make the buildings return to normal faster, being evil could lead to permanent damage (if it's severe enough).

Now THIS is something I could agree with. The only hang-up I could see actually preventing this though is the size of the game world and the amount of processing required to keep destruction persistent. It'd be like playing Bad Company 2 on inFamous's scale.
My major idea for Infamous 2 is it needs a major graphics upgrade. Drop the PS2 graphics and get with the program..take some tips from the Uncharted 2 and GOW3 devs.
I think some explorable interiors, more destructibility, better graphics and some new powers would be the perfect sequel for me! :D

PS2 graphics? Seriously dude? I think you need to go back and look at some PS2 games. The God Of War games were some of the best looking games on PS2 and inFamous easily looks better than the God Of War Collection.
Also, it's not really fair to compare it to those games. UC2 and GOW3 are pretty linear games in comparison. Yes, GOW3's scale is huge, but things get loaded behind cutscenes and whatnot. inFamous is a single large persistent world that has to take many things into account. Open world / sandbox games are best compared to each other, not more linear experiences. A better comparison would be to Assassin's Creed 2 or GTAIV.
Some AA issues (read as: Nonexistent), pop-in, and random glitches aside, I liked inFamous's art style.

I agree, I thought inFamous had great graphics, but there is room for improvement.thanks man, i dont know why people are getting so angry over simple ideas...sk8code14you need to learn how to quote.
i say some games dont need multiplayer mode. they r good the way they r. if u put effort on multiplayer in those games, u will have to sacrifice something that would make the game better like graphics, achievements, unlockables, collectables, systems ,etc....
if a game gives a multiplayer mode that have a certain system to prgress in the game, then i wouldnt mind it.
examples: demon's souls and resident evil 5.
inFamous doesn't need online.. I'd rather have them focus on the SP and make it more refined. Also, add some customization and more freestyle gameplay - the ability to use your surroundings to fight(i.e. you see a huge group of enemies camping ina building: blow up the buildings' supports and bring it crashing down. If they did this for everything in the game world it would be like BC2 supersized). Just a thought
Your MP ideas weren't bad BTW. I just don't want Sucker Punch worrying about MP. THey should build on the Epic story of the 1st infamous
thanks man, i dont know why people are getting so angry over simple ideas...sk8code14thats true i dont know why everyones getting so worked up... u had good ideas i just wouldnt prefer MP in infamous thats it.
I reckon that they are going to add multiplayer like they did on drake 2 and they will probably bring sasha back as the new and improved baddy or possably goody depending on other criteria.
Check my blog for more on infamous!!
IT really doesn't need online... i mean it could be alright, but i'd much rather them just work on an epic single player campaign, with more variety in the missions ans maybe some more customization options for the powers... and also maybe more unique buildings in the cities...PoisoN_Facecam0Didn't Naughty Dog manage to do both online and epic single player in Uncharted 2? Why wouldn't Sucker Punch manage to do the same?
It needs online and thats all.blabbyboyNo why spoil inFamous.. It dosen't need online it just needs some refining...
[QUOTE="blabbyboy"][QUOTE="Warriorboy1990"]No.Warriorboy1990Yes.Why do you want online? Not every damn game needs online play.
Actually. Online would be good. Every player climbing around and shooting ligtning bolts at eachother.
You don't have to play the game online if you don't want to you know
No, inFAMOUS was a single player game. I'd rather have them focus on the campaign rather than online.
:| I just want a little variety in the missions. I like the destructible environment idea, but I realize it probably won't happen. It needs a good story this time..
Altiar25
I want to be able to fly. Hovering wasn't good enough, flying should suck energy to stop it being gamebreakingy good but I still want some sort of flying power.
It really does need online. Also which they will defentliy fix is the few giltchs here and there. Also another thing to do is make the powers a little more choice. If you went down the evil path or the good path it changed but they should have bigger differences between the powers. They did have one power that you could only get if you went down the evil path or good path. Make it even more playable and have different powers between the two so it really make you think also do i want to go down the good path because i get this power or do i want to go down the evil path to get this power. Another thing have a netural zone. say you want to be good but you also want to be evil, netural zone wioll let you have a little bit of both. Then again maybe it wouldnt be good because then the choices in story line would be weird. Well that one is a maybe but the others yes. The first game was amazing and i can,t wait for inFamous 2 to come out and see the things the did to change it a little.
well now that i read some of the others maybe it really doesnt need online. I mean it woul be fun but even when i was playing infamous 1 i thought of online but 1.there really is no point, if its a good game it doesnt need online and 2 the logic for the online would be messed up. If you were cole and you were fighting someone else that were cole, you would be shoting lighting at him, and well you can't get hurt by lighting. then again if that problem does come up im sure they will figure out a way to fix it. Im not saying though online would be bad but i wouldnt hurt but as long as there is an infamous 2 i really dont care if there is online or not.
