I just wanted to say what I think would be good ideas for Sony if they ever tried to make the next portable system.
Same basic design... maybe reworked to be more comfortable
A second analog nub just because of it's usefulness
Pressure sensitive buttons, again because of usefulness
Same basic screen... maybe using a led backlight to save power, and also maybe increasing the refresh rate to reduce screen ghosting
Better graphics, I don't really care to much how far they would go with it just as long as it stays relitively cheap
A very large amount of internal memory, even as much as 10gb with a slot for additional memory. My reasoning for this is that we won't go out and buy games. We would download as many as we want. We would delete old games and download new ones we've bought. You can buy as many as you want and it will be saved on your "account" ready to download.
Download stations at stores. Where you would bring your psp, and download any game avialable on a computer or server there. This would benefit very much from the fastest transfer rates avaliable.
Lastly, for every game with multiplayer you would have game sharing so that any lack of Wi-fi multiplayer like the first PSP is suffering from will be remedied with single-game multiplayer.
Internally the system would be similiar to the PSP, so developers won't have to learn a new system of development.
There is no innovation in this system, but I think that adding a touch-screen or built in camera would depend on developing fun games just as much as a plain system would.
Obviously the system itself would be expensive, but it would have much cheaper games.
Thoughts?
