Everyone is allowed there opinions. I played through the demo and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am personally happy with the controls, they took some getting used to, but 10 minutes of play solved that, especially because they throw so much at you right at the start, pretty much, learn quick or fail. I love other games that don't have the whole tank-style movement, but that is more than a little of why I play RE, it's been tank controls from the beginning, nothing changed, and Capcom is good at developing AI to accomodate that style of play (or I just got really good at it). I like that they went for a Dead Space style real time menu screen with some handy shortcuts, it keeps the heart racing. My only gripe was that it seems a lot less creepy (not scary, I mean creepy, if my heart starts speeding up I consider that scary), but both levels of the demo totalled about 35 minutes of play, so I can hardly judge what happens when you get deeper into it.
I think if you don't like the way movements work in RE (not RE5, any resident evil) this game won't sway your opinion. If you don't like that it takes two triggers to fire or knife, just play with it and you'll get it. If you think this is a departure from what resident evil was and you really need to kill something called a zombie and not just brainwashed people that act just like ZOMBIES, then there isn't much you can do about stupid, you're kinda stuck with it. If you want creepiness, I think you should all save your breathe for a couple months and give Capcom a chance to let you really experience the game.
If you've completely given up then surely an email to Capcom isn't going to solve anything, everyone I've known over the years who loves RE still loved the demo, and I'm sure money speaks louder than e-mails. If Capcom runs out of money, maybe they'll listen to you.
Toodles!
