[QUOTE="2headedhawaiian"]More customization than R6V2? Have you played R6V2? The customization in this beta is weak to say the least. Overall, it's a fairly solid game, but there's a lot of room for improvement. I wish they'd drop those stiff animations. I think that's what bothers me the most.Sokol4ever
At the moment, the Beta itself makes rainbow six customization look bad. I have both and I have all of RVS2 unlocked. MGO is top notch, those so called stiff movements are not stiff at all.
This is how MGS4 is and animations are top notch. You do not compare MGO to other genres, it's on its own league.
Okay, first, I don't want to get into some kind of flame war over this, because, frankly, it's juvenile and I'm a much bigger MGS fan than R6. BUT, if you're going off of customization options alone, R6V2 has about three times the amount of appearance settings (armour, clothing, and camo). There are also many many more weapons available in R6V2 than in MGO beta. Not to mention that the different armor actually has an effect on your character. So I think when you say things like that you've got your MGS fan goggles on, because the fact is there are far more options in R6V2.
Stiff movements do, indeed, persist in the MGO beta. Yes, they've been the same in MGS since the beginning, but that's starting to not be a good thing. In an online world where movement is key, being able to make quick, controlled moves can be the difference between deezing and being deezed. Is it necessary for your character to take every single stair in a stairway? When you do a roll off of a platform, he stops in mid-air and falls straight down. If you think those animations are "top notch," again, you need to change your lenses.
Do I think MGO can overcome most of its issues before release and manage to be a decent online shooter? Yes, I do. But communication has to get easier/better to promote actual teamwork (something completely lacking on PSN), graphics/animations need to be cleaned up considerably, and various other minor gameplay issues need to be addressed. Luckily, that's what betas are for. But blindly positive feedback isn't going to help anybody, sokol4ever. I suggest trying to be a little more discerning in your analyses.
