Sony is going to acquire R*. Why? You may ask...well it's obvious. R* makes GTA IV for both systems PS3 and 360. Then, Rockstar gets 50 Mil from MSoft for exclusive downloadable content. But nowhere on this contract does it say it must reach a certain amount of downloads, they just want two extra episodes. In the hands of R*, they can make this two episodes as they wish (hell even if they make it good) and they still get that 50 Mill, I seriously doubt that everybody will even buy this content. Not everyone who has a 360 will get GTA IV. Not everyone who will be gettingGTAIV has an internet connection. R* will make 50 mil for almost nothing, and Microsoft loses money. Then, after GTA IV, R* pops out two new exclusives for PS3 (LA NOIRE and the unknown one) and then after this, Sony purchases R*, gives them the "Playstation EDGE" and that is when we start to see truly next-gen consoles...oh and R* has 50 mill from Microflop to spare :Djohnnythegamer2
I like your theory/prediction andI hope it is true or becomes true.
Sorry guys but the big bang news is.......No news. Sony has already stated that it was all a rumor.
Flame away!
Playstation EDGE is a tool that aids developers in making games look and run smoother and more immersive, and Sony is willing to aid developers a service where some guys come in to their studio's and show them how to work with the PS3 to use it's full potential.johnnythegamer2
It amazes me at just how many people don't understand what the EDGE TOOLS are and how Sony works with developers instead of trying to buy them and then control every detail in what they do with there games without any real help from the company. As for any big announcement I just wait until they make a announcement and not some investigators reporting something that may or may not be true.
I Think they are going to annouce PS3 Greatest Hits, The 40 GB PS3 and New PSP Slim Colors, Then They Will Show off Some Games like Infamous, Eight Days... and other GamesSouthpole92i want them to tell us more about that game. hardly anything is known about it:(

Wait, did I even say control every detail? I said how to use the PS3's potential and power...sometimes you just got to re-read something before you say something stupid.

The $50 mill is a down payment, recoupable by microsoft against profits gained, i.e., unless Rockstar make $50 million from the downloadable content, they'll beinn debtto M$
They will not be in debt to Microsoft, Microsoft paid for the exclusivity of two episodic content. They didn't make a down payment, Rockstar would never risk 50 mil on 2 episodic content. And they definately wont make 50 Mil from the content...If the content costs 10$...50,000,000 divided by 10 = 5,000,000 purchases. There are 11 million XBOX 360s purchased, 33% of which are in jeapordy, but I wont even consider the fact. Do you honestly think 5,000,000 copies of GTA IV will be sold? Even if they were sold, do you think all those 5,000,000 will have internet?! Do you honestly think that 5,000,000 people will shell out an extra 10$ for two episodes of content? Well, if so, then Rockstar would do so...but I HIGHLY doubt it.johnnythegamer2
Erm, that's the contract, I don't care if you highly doubt it or not, both Microsoft and Rockstar have stated that. you can spout your baseless conjecture all you like is, the fact is you're wrong, sorry

The 40Gig PS3 was debunked by Sony as 'just a rumour' and now look, a 40Gig PS3! But that's still not saying that it will definately happen.

Microsoft have a contract with take two not rockstar, rockstar will get paid by take two.
I very much doubt these packs will $10 eachthey will be substantial downloads that build on story/game enviroments, sort of like shivering isles, not like extra cars, extra missions etc etc, so around $30 will be more like it.
GTA4 will sell for years and people will buy 360's for years to come and this content will be on xbl for years and more people will be online in a few years time, by the time 720 ps4 come out GTA4 will have sold quite a bit more than 5mil.
Microsoft did not really buy these downloads for profit from sales of it, they bought it somulti-console owners will choose the 360 one because of the content.
And people who love GTA4 but dont own a next gen console will probably buy a next gen console for GTA4.
What you are suggesting is just crazy talk will never happen, im assuming you know this but are just having a laugh.
Sony/MS may try and buy take-two and/or rockstar when/if take-two goes up fo sale, and i'd put my money on MS winning that battle, maybe even the 50 mil was a downpayment, offering to have first choice if they do sell, it would definitly be interesting if take-two went on the market.

While you are correct on their official statement, a lot of people have been getting invited to a "Special Show" on October 10th in Canada... So we'll see.

Good post. Rockstar is a huge chunk of Take 2. We are talking about GTA, Midnight Club, GTA, Table Tennis and GTA. We know GTA is going to make alot of money when it comes out and Take 2 is not going to miss out on all that cash. Especially since it is being released on both the 360 and PS3 on the same day. Rockstar should just go off on its own if they can.
