Hi everybody ,

Last night i was playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma , then my PS 3 froze on me twice n i had to restart my console after second time .Before freezing i was playing with my NGS game disc , but today i installed the game manually ( took sum time ??? ) and again i played for a hr , it froze once only for couple of seconds then it ran fine as usual .

EDIT : it froze on me in offline mode , i was not online.

Yes , lately i 've been playing NGS much ( not non stop , but with decent breaks in between as i'm simply loving the game very much) , so is my PS 3 overheating 4 this reason , hence its frezing up on me ?

I gave my console rest 4 today or tommorow perhaps also .

So my question does PS 3 overheat easily if i play in it 4 good amount of time ?

And kindly pls suggest me 4 how much time i need to play my PS 3 so it dosen't overheat n after that how muchs hrs should i give it rest so i can start again ?

My PS 3 console is in a ok ventilated space .

I'm afraid that if its sensitive as ....... ( u can guess ;) ) , i might've to send it 2 SONY if freezing prb persists :( Damn , i'll lose all my game saves :(

Pls suggest me ,

Thanking everybody in advance :)

Make sure your game disc is clean, that the system is dust free. Try a restore to default settings, and switch off 1080 HDMI output (in the BD/DVD settings) if you aren't using it. Worst case, try a full system restore (but back up your HDD first).

If you downloaded any trailers or demos right before this started happening, delete them.

I live in a sandy area , even tho i cover my PS 3 during breaks with a cover , dust always gets accumulated near my system n TV :(

I noticed my NGS game disc is not so clean also :( I havent yet checked whether rest of my PS 3 games having same probs or not .

I'll postively do as u suggested now , but how do i back up my HDD ? I only got inbuilt 40 gig mem with my PS 3 :( I've a PSP btw .

Please suggest :)

If it happens alot youll have to send it in, which isnt too bad, Sony has pretty good service but just make sure you keep that dust away from your ps3 and wipe off the NGS disc with a soft cotton cloth you can also suck out some of the dust that may have accumulated in your ps3 with a low pressure vacuum, hope it gets better :)

also TC, make sure all the vents on ure PS3 are clear so that air can easily flow through it. if ure living in a sandy area then make sure u give the PS3 a wipe down every now and then.

if that doesent work and none of the above suggestions work then it might be failing, in which case ull need to send it in.

My PS3 used to freeze regularly, however once I disabled the information bar, I've not had a single issue.

Just some advice, if dust seems to accumulate around your T.V and system maybe you should move it somewhere else. Think about it, A little dust here and there over the years can damge your system.

my PS3 fmy ps3 froze a few times on Enchanted arms and Oblivion, but not on other games, so some games have more problems than others. try to put your console higher and far from Windows if there's dust around you, or in a closed cabinet with the rear open (so it allows heat to go away but minimal risk of sand)

My PS3 also froze a few times. I turned off the media search and information bar, I also moved the console to a more opened area. Hasn't frozen since :D

Mines did that a lot... over and over

sorry to say, but it never fixed. It stopped reading games and even if I restored it, it kept doing the same thing and would not read games.

But it wasn't all bad. I called Sony and they said they would send me a new one. First they send you a box with all the stuff needed to ship it and after you do, it takes a little over a week to get back to you. There is no problems with the new one.

I'm being completely honest with you since the same thing happened to me, so in case yours does mess up, be sure to have a copy of the receipt and have the warranty sticker on the ps3
