when i was playing cod waw it froze when the match finished so i waited for like 10mins then i reset it then when the ps3 was loading the cod waw disc icon didnt come up so i ejected it restarted the ps3 then when it fully loaded i putted the game in then he disc icon came up so it started to load then it froze again, so i tried another game and it happened again i can play it sometime but it freezes and i cant play dvd on my ps3 too my screen goes black when its loading i got update 2.80 can anyone help?

You should first try to use a blu ray lens cleaner, and if that dosent work its sounds like the blu ray drive is about to go out...... i know cause my ps3 is doing the same thing....

Its either your bluray, but could also be an update problem, my mates ps3 got screwed in an update, if this is the case, sony will send u a brand spanking new one even if it is out of warranty. Either way i would try ang get it replaced if u r in warranty. and if u do, make sure to copy data from the old one and deactivate the account on the old one before setting it up again on the new one, u will still retain trophies ect if u do
This happened to me one time and i tried lots of different games, if you have MGS4, put it in and start it up... if at the top of the screen it shows a flashing disc and a flashing question mark, you have a virus and need to get your ps3 repaired... trying games and dvd's continuously in a damaged console is not going to make things better and isnt very wise...

They don't have viruses for the PS3.
haha i am working on one. first virus for ps3. i dont know when i will launch it though. >=)

You BLU-RAY drive could be dying or burnt out. Replace it, or buy a whole new PS3. All I can think of really. Contact SONY, get them to fix or replace it, but make sure to back up your files and whatever else you want. :)
if it is your Blu-Ray drive, its worth the money to get it repaired... think about it... we all know of another un-reliable console that breaks down after every year so that the makers can make an extra profit from repairs... we all know what im talkin bout dn we??? :lol:
