My PS3 froze for the first time.

I was just playing through Portal for my second time, when on the loading screen my PS3 froze. I pressed down the power button on the front until it re-started, went onto Portal and my data was gone. My save files and game data. What went wrong. I hope my PS3 doesn't do that again in the future, this isn't a sign of breaking, is it?

I don't think so. It happened to me a couple of times, and it's still working fine. However, I'm not sure why it does that...

MY INFAMOUS FROZE ON LOADING BUT I JUST EXCHANGE IT FOR ANOTHER INFAMOUS IN STORE.

My PS3 has frozen many times, but never have I lost data afterwards. :?
