My PS3 has slow internet

I think there is something wrong with my connection setting, especially when I do file sharing. You know now since it updated you can do what the 360 does, which is to play files like music and videos on your PS3 through the network. Although it says for all of that it is unsupported data. Yet I know they should work because they work on the 360. I think it said something like a nat 3 is what I am using and I need to change it, I don't know what that means though. On top of that my PS3 surfs the Internet real slow just like the PS3 store downloads are really slow. Is that normal?

Well I think they are still working out the streaming bugs so stay tuned....and yes the ps3 browser is normally slow.

My PS3 loads a page in about 2 seconds. I have a ****** N1 wireless router about 100 feet away. Define your term of slow so that I can help you out more.

My connection feels slightly faster then dial up, but it can be faster sometimes more like DSL but most of the time it is like I said a little faster then dial up. I would say a normal web-page like Google takes about 2-3 seconds, and then this site which is much more complicated can take 8-10 seconds.

But what IS your connection? As in, what is your ISP? Comcast? I had wireless with Comcast cable and my internet went pretty slow on my PS3. Then I got Verizon Fios and it runs perfectly.

Timewarner... it goes fast on my computer and xbox live account, but only slow for the PS3. So verizon works better, I hope they work it out so it does not matter.

thats just the way the ps3 internet is i have a charter 10meg connection it goes SUPER fast on comp and xbox live pretty slow on PSN you'll get use 2 it

 The PS3 browser been slow, nothing's wrong with it.....maybe they get it fix, maybe never.

yeah mine's pretty slow.  have a ****** 54g router, should probably upgrade to n1.

you probably talking for downloads
at some time in the day the downloads can be incredibly slow, but in other time you can do 100mb in 5 sec...

also, the wifi card that sony put in the ps3 are total crap, you will probably see an enormous difference if you can connect a cable into the ps3

I have to try that one of these days with a wired connection, but man that kind of defeats the purpose of getting the wireless PS3...

I have a wireless setup with a D-Link g seres wireless router on a DSL server and it has a constant signal all the time that's very good. With a cable server they tend to fluctuate a lot depending on the time of day and how many TV's on the line are using the signal thus lowering the signal quality.

mine is slow on downloads and the store (but not so much that it's a problem) but the online gaming is flawless, never had a problem, have you tried that yet? i would say if your games are lagging there is definitely a problem, but if not, it's probably just your ps3 taking its time, not your router.

plz tell me u are lying cos if thats the case throw ur comp away if its browser takes so long to load or maybe ur a dirty lier

at some time in the day the downloads can be incredibly slow, but in other time you can do 100mb in 5 sec...

also, the wifi card that sony put in the ps3 are total crap, you will probably see an enormous difference if you can connect a cable into the ps3

mines connected wirelessly and everything works great. sony must have put a different "wireless card" in mine.
