Ok my PS3 makes alot of noise. I have it in an area with a lot of space and I do not know what else to do. I was thinking of getting a cooling system but I do not want to waste my money and get something that is even louder. Any help here would be nice guys.

Oh yea it is the original 60g model if that helps

Dont get a cooling system. The PS3 vents heat in a very efficient manner.

But no it is not like chuck norris's sonic boom round house kick loud

My ps3 does that sometimes, the best thing to do would be to keep it as cool as possible and try not to use it for prolonged sessions.

Remember its winter, sound tend to be louder than normal. Also since is 60GB, most probably you bought it long time back, my theory is that some dust went inside causing heating problems. I suggest you use a compressed air can to lightly blow the PS3 through the ventilation holes.

Just make sure you have it in an open area, and some noise will happen as the fans crank up to high. I found this to happen in parts of a game where there is a lot of activity. Also take a can of compressed air and blow some of the dust out.

I think he's right. I blew the dust out with the can spray twive a week. also I have mine out in an opened, and I have the 60gig one it's never lound and I had it on all day to late late night.

I have a 40gb one and mine was getting loud as well. I cleaned all the dust from my ps3, made sure there was no dust around it, then used some air duster on a couple of the vents. It's been quiet ever since. :)

If your ps3 is stuffed in a corner or against a wall, you could try moving it out a bit and making sure the room doesnt get too hot. I think my whole ps3 broke because the over heating system went wrong :S

Or, and this is just a suggestion, why not build your own PS3 muffler like device and then sell to other people with loud PS3?

I had a problem with this, same model ps3 also, its the fan thats making such a loud noise. I didn't experience any gameplay problems with it but its not normal despite what some people are saying. I've had 5 PS3's and only 1 has done this and it was one that had been replaced and "fixed" by sony. My advice, what I did, is call them up and tell them that your PS3 keeps crashing because the fan is making a loud noise and its overheating and they'll send you a new one. It's not a serious problem it probably won't overheat but it is very annoying and should be pretty silent. That was my experience, hope it helps :)
