I just got a Ps3 Slim and hooked it up. It makes a Faint electrical motor noise, kind of like a car engine or a lawnmower but much much much smaller. (try to imagine it) If everything was absolutely silent, from about 3 meters max away from the system, you can hear the motoring. Is this normal? I would think that the system/ fan would make a Completely smooth running noise, instead of a Motorish Noise. Is it suppose to make a COMPLETELY Smooth running Noise instead of something else? Here's a video of what mine sounds like: (Is this normal?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9_sr5QbJVk OR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzfp_yy5veI (Skip to 0:33)

Thats just the fan, mine does it too and the hotter your ps3 and climate the faster the fan will spin.

that noise is a good thing, it means the fans are working correctly.

i hear that noise all the time while im playing

it does get annoying, but i would rather hear it b/c i know that the fans are working and the ps3 is cooling down

btw, dont play uncharted 2 or you might have a heart attack (b/c the fans kick into high gear while playing that game) :P
