same problem for a mounths now... i play with my ps3 minimum 5 hours a day no problems at all just a loud sound from fans

I can't speak for him but I don't have much to do now that school is out and all my buds got summer school. I play around 3 hours a day.
Ive never had any issues with my PS3, but ive noticed that sometimes (about 40%) of the time the fans come on and theyre pretty loud. I have my ps3 sitting on a plastic/metal little table, in a reasonably well ventalated room, which has an AC signoreNothing's wrong-normal for fans to kick in and sound louder at times.When you don't hear them after several hours play,then you can kiss your PS3s shiny black butt goodbye cos you'll know it's about to melt.
so much of the 'quiet ps3',,, its actually pretty annoying when the audio on game isnt loudsignore

I've had mine for about four years and recently the fan has been kicking in a lot more at full blast. It never used to do this and when it does now it blows out cold air, its not hot or even warm. I had a theory that a firmwire update may have made the fans kick in quicker as a precaution. Maybe over heating was causing issues that Sony caught up on? Either that or its just dust...
