My PSP-2000's UMD Drive got infested with ants (WHY???!!!) and now each time I insert any UMD inside it, the disc spins but nothing is really happening in the XMB. What should I do?

Can you please explain in more detail just exactly what happened? It might help to know all the facts. Did these ants literally rip the drive apart? Or did they just dance around for a while inside the drive? It might just be that the lens needs cleaning or something.

The lens got loose, and the UMD drive makes unusual noises when a UMD is inserted. Can you please explain in more detail just exactly what happened? It might help to know all the facts. ...and you're telling me that just because I named myself TEKKEN220? :(Call Sony and tell them "Ants ate my PSP" and see what they say.

Haha, I'd love to hear that conversation there...
Pour out a can of Coca-Cola next to the PSP, but make sure the device is kept at a safe distance. Next, open up the UMD Drive. From there, just wait. Within an hour, all the insects should be out of the system and all over the soda. And it's here where you can choose to exact vengeance upon them!
Hope that helps. :)

Not if you keep it at a "safe distance." "Next to the PSP" doesn't necessarily imply it being poured just half an inch away. ;)

some ants will stay there if it became a nest to them so nothing will happen they will lay eggs even if you got a good amount of them out

Whenever someone fails to catch on to sarcasm, I think a piece of me dies inside.
But seriously, you should either A: find a reliable method of cleaning the thing out.
B: Send it into Sony to take care of.
Or C: Get a new unit if financially possible.
I wish you a speedy resolve to your current predicament, sir!
