sweet! I just purchased a 7.1 surround ONKYO. And I 'am prolly going to take it back to circuit city and get a ps3 instead. I was a little worried about my lcd though. It doesnt have hdmi imputs. just component and vga. Mybe a dvi but ill have to check.
The ps3 has an optical out for sound right? not just hdmi.

Thanks for the info . Now I just need to box up my surround system and take it back. I think I'll get 5 free blue ray movies also. And I have a psp already so that will be cool. I never owned a ps2 ether so I'll get to play tha final fantasy that came out not to long ago also. Iam a little excited about it now.

I have a 720p tv and a 1080p tv, and if you ask me, I dont see much difference between them, unless you watch tv at like 4 feet away from it. Your tv will look great with a ps3.

Nice! Thats a much better system than my little htib. I ve read about the receiver on AV forums. Its nice. speakers look good to. The speakers that come with the one I have are big . and look cool. They dont really sound that great though. Not real crisp .The sub is powered atleast. You get what you pay for though.

westinghouse LTV-32w1 32-inch LCD TV

Actually vga is better than component imo. its much sharper and bypasses "filters" that are on some tv's so its a cleaner signal. And on my 360 vga allows for specific resolutions. unlike component. so i could actually set it to 768 x1,366p instead of just 720 which then would just be made to fit 768 pixels automatically by the tv.. and would not look as good a 768P right from the source. anyhoo lcd's have a fixed pixel resolution. so even though i can use a 1080i signal its not really 1080i because i dont have 1080 pixels on the lcd screen. I have exactly768 x1,366 pixels. so

and it's 1366 X 768 (i think length times height)

1080 is nice to have if you can afford it get it right now, personal opinion, though you should purchase a PS3 right now if you're looking for a bluray player, what i suggest though is save up and buy them both at the same time, that way you don't feel left out. Cuz u kinda need a hdtv for fulfilling the full capabilities of your ps3.
