...Having an exception?
I don't like Sci-Fi shooters. However, I make an exception to the Resistance franchise. The story is so engaging, I love it so much!

While I do like sand box games like GTA I always loose interest in them fast because it just seems like overkill to me. There is so much to do that somewhere I always loose interest. With that said I really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption and played it all the way through.
Not into racing but DiRT 2 is loads of fun.shaka_fo00o
Same here. I cannot stand racing games, but I love Dirt 2 and am so looking forward to Dirt 3!
hate racing games but mario kart and CTR i love... also never really been into the GT series but am interested in GT5
Well, this isn't a PS3 title because I don't have any games for it that I don't for-sure want and like, but I hadda post it.
I generally don't go for Sword & Sorcery/ Dungeons & Dragons stuff, but I absolutely, positively LOVED a game called "Drakan: The Ancients' Gates". It was flat-out one of the best, most involving dungeon crawlers I have ever had the pleasure of playing and if you missed it on PS2, I suggest you find a copy if you still have the capacity to play PS2 games. Even in the standard def, it's a joy to look at. You have your main character and she can skill up in magic or martial diciplines (or a combination), the spell casting is stick-based so you go through the motions of casting the spell in order to get it done, a nice gimmick... You are riding a giant Red Dragon for a lot of the above-ground sections of the game, and the flying is very cool and feels right, there are a few air combat sections and you can use your dragon's weapons (fire balls, lightning strikes, etc which you level up and unlock across the story) to soften up the Knoll resistance before dismounting and finishing off the stragglers... The story involves these evil demi-gods being released from a desert prison after millenia and you need to shut the door on them before they trash the world... along the way there are seamless dungeons to explore, side quests to take on and grind a bit with, and a solid main story. You have a real connection to the dragon who's a bit of a smart-mouth, and has a wry sense of humor.
The game rocks. Still have a copy. Think that's my next Nostalgia Trip - I've been on a tear going through my old games again cuz I'm broke as a joke and just got my car stolen... So I gotz very few shekals for games lately...
But I laugh because at least I still have my health. GET THIS GAME.
Cheers!

Thank ya, Smoke... stolen stuff is just a fact of life in a big American city, y'know? The kicker to the story is that I got parking tickets in the mail a month later, whoever had my car had parked it illegally and here the tickets have pictures of your plate and the no parking zone, etc, and you can see that the window is smashed out. The car was on an active Stolen Hot List but the cops ticketed it on THREE separate occasions. They HAD MY CAR - a STOLEN VEHICLE, took PICTURES of it on three separate days enterd the plate into computers, wrote me up, BUT IT NEVER REGISTERED TO THE COPS THAT THE CAR WAS STOLEN.
So, of course, I told the city to jam those parking tickets sideways.
But that game... pretty flippin' great, ain't it??? I loved the character design, the monsters reminded me of Harryhausen creations, and i really loved how you could be flying along way up high, see a cave, and swoop down, dismount, go all the way to the bottom of the cave and back, with no loading, not a hiccup... that game's open worlds felt amazing.
i hate dmc/gow/ng type hack n slash combogames but liked heavenly sword.

++++++ hell YES to RPG RPG RPG..
I hate JRPG's.
Not too keen on RPG's either, however I love Fallout 3, mainly because of the gore and the post-apocalyptic setting.
I don't dislike a specific genre I hate specific games. Little Big Planet - The worst platform I ever played.(Compared to my Nintendo platformers) FightingfanI admit that the jumping and movement in LBP is somewhat weak, however once I adjusted to the way that Sackboys handle I loved playing for the creative levels that the community has designed.
Also there is no genre that I hate. I have found several enjoyable games in each.
