So, I recently got a PS3 and I have a nat setting type 3. so i went online and looked up ways to change it to type 2, but no matter what i do it stays at type 3, i have tried port forwarding and creating a DMZ, and neither worked, or maybe i did it wrong? i would much apreciate some help! :) thank you.

Here's my advice connect your PS3 by going wired internet then stop using wired this means unhooking your PS3 from wired connection then go back to wireless then your NAT type should be at least 1 or 2. I did it this way and it worked.

Ahh yes the mythic nat 2!!! it all depends on your modem first off. If you have DSL from at&t or one of it's many sister company's and have a motorolla 2210 silver modem that has four or 5 lights . Nothing will change your nat unless you bridge it, you have to put pppoe on your computer, and put all your info in to your router call your IP provider they can help you.

I will have to try that but atm I am having no problems. Was on wired for a while and recently switched to wireless to see the difference, it does say nat3 but it's working like a charm. I did read this is only a problem in certain games as the developer blows the code for online or something.

I JUST fixed this porblem.

You need to set up your DSL modem as a bridge, bridge mode. There is a guide for your model just search it out on google.

If you have more than 1 point of failure, such as a wireless router, you need to set that up as PPPoE.

If you have no others. Then you need ot set up your PS3 as PPPoE

This will switch you to NAT2. This fixed my problem for playing online for Brutal Legends with others.

If you have DSL the first thing you need to do is make sure the modem is bridged. You can try every possible way of fixing this in the routers settings but until the modem is bridged it's not gonna work wireless or wired. The easy way of checking is connect directly to the modem and see what NAT type you have, if the modem is bridged the NAT type will be 1 when connected directly.
