Ok so the other day i was trying to change my NAT type 3 to NAT type 2. I searched the internet and found a guide to opening ports, but that didnt work properly (I think i did it wrong). Then i read i could use my broadband username and password in the PPoEE (Sorry if i spelt it wrong), and that gave me a NAT type 1. My question is, since im now connected straight to the internet while bypassing my routers firewall, is there a risk i could get a virus from the PS3?

And is NAT type 2 better than NAT type 1?

Port forwarding is rather straightforward. Check your router's DHCP client table for the address of your PS3 (if you don't know its local IP already.) Head over to your port forwarding setup, input the PS3's IP address, and input the ports (or port ranges) you wish to open.

None. Just make sure your PC isn't directly connected to the internet, especially if you have a lax software firewall. You have nothing to worry about if it's your PS3..there are no "viruses" for the system.

So should i stick with NAT type 1 or do port forwarding to get NAT type 2?
