Okay so since for some reason the Call of Duty servers aren't working, I decided to play Resistance online, but for some reason it keeps freezing when I play online. It freezes about 3 - 4 times, (shows a broken bar in the middle of my screen tht represents something wrong with my connection) and then it eventually disconnects me from tht game. I had this problem before, it involved my NAT Type being NAT Type 3, so I changed settings on my router to make it NAT Type 2 so it would work with Call of Duty 4, but now it doesn't for Resistance. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

I have been playing on Call of Duty 4 with Nat 3 for weeks now (until reaching rank 38) where I switched it to Nat 2 and got to Rank 41. Now the servers are down and I can't play anymore :( Nat 3 should still work fine, though it did for me anyways. If Call of Duty 4 isn't working, its because the servers have gone haywire for the moment.

I don't know about that, I've never been able to really enjoy online play because I've always had a NAT type of type 3.

Instead of modifying your port forwarding setting, try adjusting the DMZ setting for the PS3. DMZ is a way of Openeing ALL the ports for 1 device that way you will NOT have to setup Port forwarding for each game if needed.

In your routers menu you should find DMZ or Static NAT they are the same thing just some Routers use different names. So Setup a DMZ then you will be all set.

Either the static IP address of the PS3 or (on some routers) just the MAC address.

I have put my PS3 in a DMZ zone.. however everything worked before fine with NAT Type 3.. now I`m on Type 2 I havent actually noticed a difference.. The demonware COD servers and lack of patches from Infinity Ward are the problems..

U might need to do a firmware update on your router. What kind of Router are U using? What is the firmware number?
