I just looked at the two reviews and I have played both games and while it is true NBA live is better this year 2k10 is still the king imo.

I am not saying the review is right or wrong but I just wanted to see what other people think.

I for one think this 2k is great and a lot better than last years...

when they said 2k10 was the more arcadey version i was seriously confused as i'd played the demo for both and live is by far the more arcadey game. also ps3 wise 2k10 is considerably better on ps3 where lives ps3 version has more problems then its counterpart. both games have bugs and glitches though and framerate issues that pop up.

I meant to say that Live is better than last year's Live, but 2k is still better in my opinion... My opinion is that and I am not saying no one is wrong or right but I find it funny that they say 2k is more arcadey, because when I play it I find it a very good sim... especially the my player mode... if anything Live is choppy and has weird animations that happen way to often... it is just not as fluid as 2k... but hey to each its own.

I think that 2k10 is the best basketball game I have ever played... I really feel like I am playin a real game... but hey whatever

The review for NBA 2K10 is probably the worst review that I ever read on gamespot. In my opinion, it is probably the biggest improvement of an NBA game from one year to the next. And it is also WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY better than NBA Live 10.

I agree. I rented both, then purchased the better basketball simulation game, which is hands down NBA 2K10. There are some bugs, I'm not saying it's a flawless game, but they're very patchable (and one is in the works), so I'm happy.

I mean I can see the little gripes with the NBA 2k10 game, but bottom line is this is the best basketball sim game I have ever played. I mean I feel that my player mode is a totally different game and then you have all the other game modes that work great too.

I've never understood the argument that 2K is a better basketball sim. Being an owner to both games, 2K, executes a smoother basketball product - when speaking of fluidity Live has no chance, but as far as trying to replicate the game of basketball on a disc, hands down to Live 10 and the Live series. NBA Live has proven its understanding for the actual game of basketball and other basketball players will cosign this. To be a half-way decent Live player you have to know the game of basketball. 2K on the other hand, I can grab any player that's rated 70+ and score 60 with them. How that demonstrates 2K being a better basketball simulation astonishes me. I can take a player like Charlie Villanueva and easily keep up with the opposition (scoring wise). Live forces you to run some sort of organized offense to be successful: pick and pop, hitting cutters, etc. I would give the basketball game of this year to NBA Live 10, but that's not so much of a knock on 2K as it is complimenting Live's improvement and clearly outdoing 2K THIS year. 2K fanboys at ease. Not here to start a war, solely projecting my opinion. Cheers.

Live has all was been the more acradey hasn't it? Anyways the reviewer was probably playing on Pro, needs to bump up the difficulty.

How so? With 2K you can throw full court passes, pour on the points with just about any player, and pound, pound, pound the ball to finally weave yourself to the basket in under 24 seconds. How does the simulate realistic basketball on any facet?

well, i think GS just got fed up with how buggy the game is. i mean, they released a buggy game and expected Day 1 buyers to be beta testers.

after reading that comment i have a very hard time believing you've played 2kbasketball gamesin the past. the comment about taking any 70+ rated player and score 60 is just dumb. i realize you were probably being dramatic but either way that comment is way off. i havent played much of live 10, but i know every previous iteration you could just take a player and pull off spins and cross overs all the way to the basket for a dunk. i honestly dont know how anyone can argue in live's favor when it comes to simulating the real game of basketball, and this is mostly talking about previous versions because as i said i havent played much of this years.

Yeah NHL wise, NHL 10 is much better than NHL 2k10, but when it comes to NBA, 2K can definitely produce a better sim.

EA in general can't make a good fluid game in sports lately, the madden crisis, the fight night failure, and live has been one of the most arcadey and cartoony moving basketball franchise for quite some time and it still moves that way. EA should stick to soccer and baseball, sometimes i think reviewers are paid under the table. Journalism taken a hit and Gaming Journalism isn't even respected cuz there's been evidence and rumors that ppl who are reviewing getting paid off...Terrible times we live in.

Amazing... I respect your opinion, but would disagree. I was a Live Fanboy, because I stayed with them all the way til the 360 and ps3 came out. I changed games after that with 2k7 on up. I am hoping for Live to get their act together and it looks like they are making strides in that direction, but 2k10 is a lot less arcadey in my opinion and is the better game overall. The comment about true ballers knowing the difference is true, because I have played ball all my life and love the My player mode because of the realisim and the game as a whole is that way(up the difficulty sir).

2k10 runs plays correctly, the defense is on point with deny and being able to play the passing lanes...

Also as far as those ful court passes goes you can not do that as much anymore... nor can you just throw it in the lane all easy. True it has some bugs... but all games do.

And why in the hell do you buy both basketball games?

I think the thread is legit... Gamespot is the only site I've seen that gave LIVE a better review then 2K... Something is fishy... Some people have different opinions but still alittle weird...

Yea that is the other thing that bothers me...Live everywhere else is rated lower than 2K or at the most tied...And no where is 2k rated so low and a lot of reveiws even go as far to say that this game is a big improvement over last years...

Something is rather fishy about that...

i miss the days when i had the lastest Football, Basketball and Wrestling games during their launch period. The last good Madden for me was 2004. Live was top notch during PS1 days while lacking since it debuted on PS2. i bought live up to 2006 but traded for 2K6. That was the last good one. the last good Smackdown game was Here Comes The Pain(2003) i cant believe their using the same PS2 engine. but unlike Football and Wrestling games, we have options for Basketballgames. but today's Basketball games are to broken to pay full price so i'll wait. MLB 09 The Show is good but overall it's the PS2 game. cant really do a whole lot in Baseball games. i paid $40 for my copy. Man the sports genre sucks this gen

No, 1up also rated live better. Gamedaily rated both 90. Look both are geat games. I just think this year live is better. I know that sounds crazy, cause its been a decade or so, but honestly I think Live 10 is the better game.

I always play on the second to highest difficulty. All-Star on Live, because that's usually the default standard online. So it's not like I'm playing on Starter where I can throw up off-balance 40 footers. I think Live's realism is on point. They really punish you for attempting to throw a full court pass, it hardly ever works out, lol. I own both games because I'm more of a Live fan, this year anyway, and my brother is a 2K junkie. I personally think EA and 2K should make a compound basketball game. NBA Live 2k11? It would eliminate fanboys, and anyone interested in a basketball sim would be forced to purchase one game. Plus EA share it's graphics engine with 2K's fluid movements - best of both worlds. :D
