Gamespot's review of NBA 2K11 is a JOKE! "The Bad: Online lag and replaying MJ's greatest games isn't much fun"

- Really?

I have played 1 online game and there wasn't ANY lag at all

Replaying those games is a BLAST playing against the old teams with the old Bulls teams! Maybe the reviewer isn't good at the game?

This is the first NBA game I have bought since NBA Live 96 and I do not regret it AT ALL! TONS OF FUN and TONS to do!

I like playing 21 against Snoop Dogg int he "Blacktop" mode

LoLz, dude. C'mon now...

... didn't science or mathematics teach you anything about testing a theory before declaring it a fact or a constant? One game doth not a controlled experiment make. Play at least 100 and truthfully note all connection speeds, and at least that way come up with a percentage report on lag or other connectivity reliability issues...

... and for those of us Chicagoans who lived through it the first time, falling back on MJ as a draw says just how pitifully boring today's players are, that they can't find someone current to support their game. MJ is still the greatest player of all time, no question, but even NASCAR fans have stopped demanding Sir Richard Petty & Dale flippin' Earnhardt Sr. ...

IGN gave this game a much higher score (as has every other trusted site and reviewer), than the slow-pokes here at GameSpot... I wouldn't worry too much about people getting the wrong idea about the game...

I knew the 1 game thing would bring out some hack trying to make fun of me.

I guarantee if I go home and play 30 online games, NONE of them will lag ...

So ... whatever ... I would rate it 9.5 and I usually HATE NBA games

I forgot to read your whole message, and I am NEAR Chicago, not IN Chicago, but near it and I remeber it well myself

- It's refreshing to drop 55 on the Knicks and 63 on the Celtics and 69 the Cavs ...

I also like this year's Rookies and Sophomores better than any years previous - Makes the league more interesting this season and I am not hesitant to bring John Wall to the Bulls with Derrick Rose and dominate the Heat ;-)

First off, stop reacting like someone touched you inappropriately. If you're going to make a statement in a public forum think it through, or at the very least grow a skin because what you said is funny. It's not the end of the world when someone points out something like I did, find the humor in yourself, we're here to interact and learn from one another. It's not a slam, but you should know that one game is not a litmus test to draw conclusive evidence from... anyone on this forum will tell you that much... Even 30 games is too few to be empirical about the findings.

As I said, IGN gave the game a 9.5, there is nothing wrong with your perception about the game in my opinion. Relax and have some fun.

I think the Metacritic score is what matters if your worried about scores for this game. Last I checked it was averaging a 9.1 or something so there are plenty of people who like this game a lot. I agree that this year's game is by far more polished and has a lot more to do then your average NBA game. Jordan's moments are fun, and for any of you who watched MJ all the time it is a nice stroll down memory lane. As of right now I am enjoying the hell out of My Player mode. Yes, this mode has only a few additions but they polished up problems from last year so now it is a lot better in overall experience. Its funny that my player is a 6'6 SG and I was drafted by the Heat. So now my team is blowing everyone out of the water and I am already on my way to becoming an elite player half way through the season. Dynasty in place, time to be the next Jordan!

Learn to see reviews as what they are: opinions.

If you ask me sports games should never get more than a good (ie. 7) rating unless they drastically improve from last year's release. The graphics rarely exceed expectations, the gameplay remains the same, and the multiplayer dies in a year as fans migrate to the next title.

Well it seems like Gamespot doesnt have any basketball fans, IMO the game is the best basketball game ever made. Gamespot gave it the lowest score, it seems like everyone including user reviews is giving it between a 9.0-10.0, which it deserves. Anyone who calls themselves a basketball fan should get this game, its fantastic!

If you're not a mod, don't mediate. Simple as that.

As for the TC, it's good to see that they fixed the online lag becaues that was the only thing holding me back from purchasing it. I'll pick up my copy tonight.

I also disagree with the review. NBA 2K11 deserved ATLEAST a 9. But who cares what someone else thought about the game, if you love it, it's a 9 or 9.5 to you, and that's all that matters right?

Again ppl, most video game reviewers are NOT sports fans, so i disregard ALL reviews for sports games, and judge them on my own 25+ yr experience with sports & games.

THAT'S THE THING!!!

This game is so amazingly improved and polished since last year. It IS the NBA experience. Thank you, TC, for making this topic as I was going to do to until I saw this.

NBA 2K11. The best sports game I have ever played.

Reviewers are people too. They have opinions just like every one of us. The fact that this pisses you off shows that you care way too much about what other people think.

I agree, very **** score. I'll never be able to take the guy that reviewed this game seriously. True an 8 is a pretty good score but not when the game is definately greater than that. I believe they gave 2k9 the same score and this one is better than that game in EVERY way. I couldn't believe when i read that one of the negatives were the jordan challenges. That **** is fun as hell, yes some of them are pretty damn hard but **** it, if you dont like the mode, dont play it. Theres still a million other things you could be doing in this game that are well worth it. I've always been a Live guy but this is without a doubt, the best basketball game ever made. Ign was way more accurate with their 9.5 score. Gamespot is turning into a ****in joke. At least the dumb**** "reviewer" is.

Seriously FIFA 11 got a 9.0. Then this deserves at LEAST the same score.

I am a bit surprised considering the hype this game is recieving in addition to the high score it was given by IGN.

I only created this thread because SOME people DO look at reviews by this website and some others, so I wanted to make sure THOSE PEOPLE know it's a BOGUS rating ... and if the only things listed as BAD are the online and Jordan experiences, then any bonehead could write this review better ... even one who HATES NBA games

I don't care abotu reviews, I play the games myself and buy them - Dark Sector got a 7.5 and I LOVE that game ... I never complained about the review because it's decent ...

The person who wrote the NBA 2K11 review should quit writing reviews
