Did a search and was surprised there wasn't any topics about it. Maybe I didn't do the search correctly or something. I enjoyed NBA 2k7, and thought it was one of the PS3's better early games (don't rememberif it was a launch title, but it would make sense that it was)... butNBA Live just looksand sounds incredible. First... I don't think I have ever heard a crowd that good in any game. The graphics are jaw dropping... and player models seem spot on. The game seems a bit more difficult and not your typical dunk fest.

Really for all of thebacklash that EA is getting over a frame-rate issue on Madden and NCAA, (which in my opinion is not a huge difference, peoplearen't realizing that they are putting out some good games. Skate and NHL received some pretty solid review scores from IGN. I suspect that NBA Live will follow in their footsteps.

I had some serious stutter in my game, virtually unplayable. Alot of people were complaining about the same thing, but some have said that they have had no issues. I'm just going to have to wait until I get my hands on the disc.

I got that stuttering just last night. But, I managed to play the demo a few days earlier and was very very surprised the way it looked and played. I am not sure if it's because this is the first next-gen basketball game I ever tried or whatever. The demo felt very realistic. Marv Albert and Steve Kerrmade the game come to life with their seamless commentating. It left a good enough impression for me to want to get a basketball game this year (Haven't played live since 2005). I have yet to see 2K8.

I played NBA 08 demo and it was average compared to the Live demo

I don't have any problems with the demo. Game seems pretty fun. Curious to see how it compares to 2K.

That remains to be seen. The 2k8 preview at IGN said that the new isomotion system caused somewhat clumsy controls. The only thing I don't like about Live 08 is that I have no control over whether or not my shot will go in besides how open my guy is and even then I miss wide open threes with Lebron. In fact come to think of it...I don't think I've ever hit a three in the demo with LeBron.

Oh boy, and have you played a 2K8 demo? History does give 2K8 the edge but until I try out a demo, I can't make such a claim.

No but I did play the Live Demo and if thats all live can offer then i would have to say 2K7 is better then it, don't get me wrong I was a NBA Live head but 2K7 was just straight crazy so i had to crossover like AI.

I wasnt all that impressed with Live. And I have owned nothing but NBA Live games (I stopped at '06 but didnt buy anything after that). Just got my PS3 a couple of months ago, but after reading about "The Association" and seeing some 2k7 I think I'll finally make the leap over to 2k.

The issue I had with Live was really it still seems like it takes no skill to drive. If all you do all day is take LeBron on the wing, clear it out and drive and dunk (which is all I did and never missed) then its not really all that fun. Playing 2k7 you had to work around to get the open man, etc... much more realistic if you ask me. Plus I was playing the demo on superstar and was still able to still the ball almost any time with almost any player...

How do you have control on whether or not your shot goesin other games (like 2k7) for instance? Are you talking about using analog as a shot stick?

Anyhow, I haven't played it enough to make a real gameplay assessment, but to me... I was blown away with the graphics and sound more than anything. And with problems I hadwith 2k servers in NBA 2k7 online games... I am definitely leaning towards Live right now.

Yes, as far as 2k7 goes, releasing the ball at the top of your shot if you are wide open with a half decent shooter is a made shot. Not the case in the Live demo for me. I've made shots after holding in the button with people on me and missed wide open shots from the same spot trying to release it at the top of the jump.

I found 2K7 to be quite irritating when shooting and Live much easier.

Then again, I haven't quite mastered how to lay it up with Daniel Gibson yet. I'm going to start taking jump shots in the paint if I keep missing on breakaways.

Shooting in 2k7 is initially irritating until you get the timing down. Once you have the timing of the shot down, any open shot you get will drop and you get rewarded for good play ya know?

Am I the only one who's getting framerate issues in this demo? I'm not trying to start a discussion about EA and framerates, but I've been having problems with this demo:?

Maybe its because i dl it from the US store..?(i'm from eu)

I thought it was terrible. I was so HYPED for this game, and I will never look at EA again. I won a game on Superstar difficulty by only dunking with lebron and shooting threes with him. Also, I hit the buzzer beater three over tim duncan...

WAIT, why would TIM DUNCAN BE ON LEBRON JAMES?

i wanted it to be great, I was so excited, but you cant deny, its not real basketball. Its too arcadey. AND tje slowdown is unbearable.

did you watch the finals, I don't think Lebron hit any threes during that series either, jk

I am super impressed by the graphics in this game though. I'll rent Live and 2k8 and NBA 08 before buying to decide which one I like the best.
