So.........

The demo is finally here. I personally am well excited for this game and was really looking forward to geting my hands on the demo!

So what did everyone think?

I thought it was great. It felt heavier than I was expecting. Still arcade enough to keep me interested, but at the same time it felt pretty unforgiving.

As a rule, I suck giant sweaty old man balls when it comes to racers. I tend to stick to arcade racers because sims like GT and bore the ass off of me. But this felt better than alot of arcaders I have played before. I got my ass handed to me on Hard, so it'll be a normal playthrough for me I fear.

And the second race on Independence Pass really got the adrenaline going for me. Awesome!

So, thoughts?

Awful, the only good NFS game is Hot Pursuit because of Criterion.

Wanna elaborate a bit? What made it awful?

Criterion done a great job with Hot Pursuit, but the original NFS:HP was miles better in my opinion

Need for Speed: Most Wanted was the best in the series. Hot Pursuit is too much like Burnout because of Criterion.

Not looking too good in my opinion. The amount of stages is way too limited and the time it takes to complete them means this game could probably be beaten in around an hour.

Is this just your guess or you have some facts about the number of stages? Beat the game in an hour? The game isn't even out yet as it comes out in like a month.

"There are over 300km of track, three times more than Hot Pursuit, making it the biggest Need For Speed game." (from wikipedia)

It was fun. A lil heavy like you said but it went away as time went by. I still want a NFS like underground or underground 2.

Me too.

But it seems like The Run will fill the gap nicely while we wait for the inevitable Undergroud remake/Undergroud 3

Amen to that. Loved Most Wanted. It seemed to have the right mix of everything. I did the Lambo path in the demo only (is the Porsche one different?) and you're right it felt very heavy. I liked the drafting mechanic. I didn't really play it much, but it didn't really carry that NFS feel to it that I loved from the PS2 days.

I was gonna download the demo but since people are arguing about this game, and people are trolling, I think i will stop the download.

i wasn't too sure about this game after seeing some videos for it, but after playing the demo i thought the game was great ... excellent visual design and i thought the car controlled nicely especially the snowy level ... great racing.

NFS used to be a good series. THE HP on PS2 was phenomenal.

The new HP did not have the option to use Manual Shifting. It ended up like burnout and that was disapointing imo.

I'll have to check reviews of the new NFS. but will probably get it on a price drop.

I'm actually hoping for another Midnight Club game cause the amount of customization in the last one was impressive and it was fun game.

Please, for the love of god. Underground and Underground 2 were the last NFS's worth playing in my opinion. They are the last two NFS games I have played at all, besides playing demos of any new ones.

I liked the demo. Feels good, looks good, plays good. I'm not too sure about the game design though (you know, the story and action scenes and that there's one race divided into stages instead of a series of races) but I don't think it can break the gameplay. First Hot Pursuit, now this - I think NFS is finally getting back on it's feet. It's still far away from HP2's glory though. Besides, can someone explain to me why Most Wanted is so popular? Is it the ridiculous amount of stupid cops that are constantly getting in each other's way or the rather unimpressive visuals? No offense, but after playing it for the first time I thought about what to say at NFS' funeral.

This is actually the reason why I loved the new HP. I've been wanting another burnout like Paradise, and this is Burnout with cops! Loved it.
