Please help me, I just bought a PS3 today and got done coonecting it, but when I turned it on, it said connect controller to usb port or something like that... I got the Dual Shock 3 controller... any help would be appreciated from this PS3 newb...Twiztid-Maddox

you have to plug your controller into your ps3 with the usb cable that came with your ps3....this is how you charge your controller and i believe you need to do it initially to sync your controller

You need to charge your controllers to play, also you can play while they're charging ... wont harm anything (since you're new in this field).

That would be the firewire.

i think new controllers dont come with the mini b usb cable does it?

sorry about all that... I was lookin at my system all retarded last night, but then I realized it was on the floor hiding last night... so I didn't reply or anything, cuz I was busy playin MGS4...

I got Warhawk and Resistance too... today I got God Of War 2 and Soul Calibur 3... thought about getting Heavenly Sword but I dunno... and theres this one thing for HDtv's thats Playstation 3's hook up with hdmi... thought about gettin that, but I dunno if it will make much of a difference with my HDtv... my HDtv is a Vizio 32 inch LCD HDtv... goes all the way to 700 and something picture quality... but I don't see the HDness very often, cuz I didn't hook any hd cables into it... weird... ok, well anyways I got my PS3 workin now, so I'm happy... I will state it here that I have a 360 too, but PS3 is the console that gives me way more of a next gen feel...

WHOA! Same Tv here. Btw, the tv box is lying, it says up to 720p/1080i but it plays at 1080p! Buy either ps2 component (that's right: "PS2" component, it's cheaper and the same as PS3 ones) or an HDMI cable. I got one online for $1 with $5 shipping. You can tell a difference with hdmi as the black is darker and the white is whiter. You will be impressed with the upgrade to HD, especially with that TV.
