Need Help and some thoughts...

i've been playing Playstation 3 for little over a week now.

first off let me start off by saying i am not a die-hard fanboy, i pride myself on not being loyal to any gaming console. I've flipped so many times, but my family rules have always been stick with the one gaming rig.

I've gone

Blackmarket NES (Saudi Arabian) --> Super NES --> Nintendo 64 ---> Playstation 2 ---> Xbox 360 & Playstation 3.

i'm wrestling with the fact i feel like i've wasted my money. i currently only have two games for my PS3, Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns of the Patriots (an amazing game loved it), and Killzone 2 (an amazing let down)

lemme explain myself with KZ2, i didn't like KZ1, game mechanics, and story neither of em' interested me. KZ2 has much better game mechanics and looks amazing, but the gameplay and story doesn't do anything for me. I think Resistance would be far more up my alley.

I would really like to make Playstation 3 my main console, but i need some gaming friends on it and i'm looking for people who are NOT fanboys. hell part of the reason i stayed away from Xbox (the first one) and the Playstation 3 was simply because of fanboys.

of the exclusives to Xbox 360 that i love, i love Gears of War 1 and 2, and Mass Effect. hell i'm keeping Xbox 360 for those two exclusives and the DLC's for Fallout 3.

I would really like to know - in your opinion - what are worthwhile Sony exclusives, plus add me to your PSN if you like, i'm always up for more peeps to play with.

just don't wanna feel like i've wasted 400 big ones on a system as opposed to buying a whole lot of 360 games. :p

I wouldn't say you wasted your money. I have both as well and like both for the exclusives and the choice to choose which version of a game I want. Resistance 2 is a great exclusive and so is little big planet. I agree with you on Kill Zone 2. The game play was the issue, and the same with the first one. It made what could have been a great game a major frustration at times. I'd say keep both and use both. At least with the PS3 you can easily upgrade the hard drive and some of the downloadable games are fun (The last Guy). Also having the Blue Ray is a nicety, and wifi, and rechargeable battery included, andnot having to pay to play on line. I would still like to see some more solid exclusives. FF13 should be solid if you are into that thing. But I agree that the XBOX 360 has some great exclusives that make it worth keeping. Besides, it's great having friends on both consoles.

do you think? even though i jumped the gun a bit.

worth it, to backup my PS3 data, turn in my PS3 after a bit of saving and pick up a PS3 with backward compatibility?

I have a huge a PS2 collection that well... my PS2's laser died a while back.

I'd say MGS4 would be the best, but you've already got that.

Uncharted: Drake's fortune is supposed to be good, i've never played it though.

Resistance: Fall Of Man is damn good, and also mega cheap now.

Resistance 2: Is like half as good as the first one in my opinion, its also easier and shorter.

In my opinion Uncharted is the best single player exclusive this generation .. if not the best single player campaign I've played ..
