hello all,
I am a new owner of a PS3. what I am trying to do is connet my ps3 to my flatron L1920P pc monitor. It has DVI, so i bought a HDMI to DVI cable and conneted it my ps3. When i start up the ps3 on the a/v cables on the TV, it says "A hdmi device is detected, would you like to change the settings?" So when i do that, my monitor flashing on, and stays at a black screen. I still have audio through tv.

And something else. I can connet my 360 to my monitor by using VGA cables. If worse comes to worse, do i need to by and adaptor so i can play the ps3 on the VGA setting.

Please HELP, im pulling my hair out.

Thanks
Stazz

the problem is down to hdcp handshaking issues caused by the ps3 being a blu ray player.

the only way to get around this is to buy a hdfury hdmi to vga lead
