I don't know much about video formats, but I take it the PS3 doesn't support Microsoft's wmv files. I have several vid clips in this format that I'd like to store on my PS3. It looks like the PS3 will support Quicktime video files (don't know the file type). Is there an easy way of converting from wmv to the Quicktime format? Would this solve my problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your PS3 should be able to play WMV. That said, you need to make sure your WMV's are encoded in the latest format. There are several programs out there that can help you. I personally use WinAVI Video Converter. A friend of mine uses PS3 Video Converter 3 (I think that's what it's called). There are more out there.

yeah same as what the cyber knight said, but I use Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier Pro, but to be honest there not really the simplest ways, but I would suggest leaving your files in WMV and put them on the ps3, as the compression is normally better with WMV's, if you need the latest version just open up WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER and same as a new WMV file

I know this is pretty much the same as the cyber knight but.... anyway I hope this helps

Why convert and store the converted videos on your PS3? Just stream the files to your PS3 using TVersity, any unsupported file types will be converted to a working PS3 format on the fly.

Yeah, CellAnimation has a good point there. TVersity is a great program for streaming multi-formats with little to no problems. If you're not into converting stuff yourself, that's a really good option.
