need help getting ps3 to work

my brother just bought a hi def tv and we have been using the tv to play ps3 but now he has moved out and i am back to my standard def televison but the problem is I cant get my ps3 to work any ideas? i think i need my bro to use his tv and switch it back to standard then it will work on my tv well that my only idea does that sound reasonable or do I need to lay off the crack lol

its not working at ALL? or you cant see the screen? cuz i dont think that the TV has anything to do with the PS3 working or not.

the ps3 works fine the tv works fine its just i cant get the ps3 picture to show up I am wondering if since it's picutre is set to hi def if the ps3 's picture isnt showing up becuase its not setup for standarddef tv

Yeah, your system is stuck on the HDMI outputs. You have to find a way to switch it back to standard. There is a way, I'll look around.

hook it up to the sdtv, and when the ps3 is off hold the power button for about five seconds and that resets the video output

hold the power button till it beeps twice that should reset the outputs

heres what you do. go turn the PS3 off, then with only the PS3 and the TV connected, touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

see if it works and write back.

I had the same problem!!! I found a fix for mine, maybe it will work for you.. power it off, power it back on... as soon as you push the power button to turn it on, take your finger off, then quickly put it back on the power button and hold the power button for about 5 seconds.. it'll beep 3 times and the picture should come back. Unfortunately it didn't work the first time for me.. had to do it twice. Hope it helps!! :) G
