[QUOTE="Heirren"][QUOTE="Daavpuke"]If you want a handheld, then get one now. Even if things do get annonced they'll: 1) be a far ways away and range their release from anywhere to holiday season to somewhere next year. 2) they'll cost a lot and won't hold a lot of games you can play. Unless they're backwards compatible, then still an expensive device to play old games. If you eventually want to get a handheld, then you can wait it out I suppose.Daavpuke
It's still smart to wait for E3. Even though I remember reading that the psp2 would be announced at TGS, with E3 right around the corner, it is still smart to see if they give any details. New hardware announcements usually lead to a price drop on the current line, so for that reason it makes sense.
Agreed. But I'd still get a regular handheld after and wouldn't wait for the new hardware to hit the market.Lets be hypothetical and say Sony announces psp2 at E3. Lets say the psp2 will deliver near-ps3 visuals, be fully backward compatible with the original psp(through DD games), and, in addition to ps1 games, it would now play ps2 games as well. Then lets say sony says it will be available in Oct for $249. Would you still buy a psp available on the market? I have a feeling that the one bonus GO users have is that the games they buy will likely be transferrable to the psp2--because UMD is going to be ditched, like it or not.
Personally I think the psp2s main feature is going to be Sonys "paper thin" flexible OLED screen.
