As e3 is only around the corner, it is probabaly best just to wait for that; but not for the 3DS. It has been rumoured Sony mas reveal some sort of new PSP, so if you are looking for a handheld, you may be in luck for a better PSP being unveiled (then again, you might not, but there is no harm in waiting just a couple of weeks til you know)

I had a similar decision. Bottome line was that I wanted a handheld now. Didn't want to wait until oct/november for one. I rebought a DS a few months ago, and ended up getting sold on that camo psp. If the 3DS is sweet, then I'll have two ds systems and can play some multiplayer at the place. The new psp will probably cost $275, maybe $400, which just isn't worth it.

bbs? The ps1 support was a major point for me as well. I the ps1 library adds up over time--though its likely the next psp will support probably not only the ps1, but the ps2 as well.

You hear this EVERY DAY. Should i wait till E3...And then wait another 2 yrs till the system/game comes out. Sure, go right ahead and wait like 1-2 yrs. Or go out buy PSP. Hopefully by the time the stuff at E3 comes out, you can have enough money. This guy ^^ has it right. I'm so sick of people acting like E3= Release date for PSP2.

Always something greener on the other side of the hill, but if you just keep waiting for what comes out tomorrow, you'll never be able to enjoy what is out today.

If you want a handheld, then get one now. Even if things do get annonced they'll: 1) be a far ways away and range their release from anywhere to holiday season to somewhere next year. 2) they'll cost a lot and won't hold a lot of games you can play. Unless they're backwards compatible, then still an expensive device to play old games. If you eventually want to get a handheld, then you can wait it out I suppose.

It's still smart to wait for E3. Even though I remember reading that the psp2 would be announced at TGS, with E3 right around the corner, it is still smart to see if they give any details. New hardware announcements usually lead to a price drop on the current line, so for that reason it makes sense.

Yah I agree, wait, especially since you're thinking about trading in a system. Definitely feels like Sony is hiding something big, not sure what though.

Agreed. But I'd still get a regular handheld after and wouldn't wait for the new hardware to hit the market.

They kinda already did a 'price drop' with the GO. They bundled with some games, and just lowered the price of like 10-15 games to 10$. These two things in just the past like 2 weeks. I don't expect the GO to drop in price, but the MGS Bundle was also key right now, it amped up sales.

Lets be hypothetical and say Sony announces psp2 at E3. Lets say the psp2 will deliver near-ps3 visuals, be fully backward compatible with the original psp(through DD games), and, in addition to ps1 games, it would now play ps2 games as well. Then lets say sony says it will be available in Oct for $249. Would you still buy a psp available on the market? I have a feeling that the one bonus GO users have is that the games they buy will likely be transferrable to the psp2--because UMD is going to be ditched, like it or not.

Personally I think the psp2s main feature is going to be Sonys "paper thin" flexible OLED screen.

If the psp2 was like the like the ps3, but portable. They would just name it like ps4.... Screw them both, just make a monster system. That's the way most of the people are on forums are acting like. "We want a PS3, but Portable".....We can all wish i suppose

e3 is only a few weeks away so you should wait to see if sony announces anything new. If not you should might as well get the bundle.

What does TGS stand for? Becuase i'm waiting for an anouncement also.
