Need Help on either to buy a PS3 or not???????, Thanks.

I currently have an Xbox 360 andthat consoleprobably is the best piece of hardware i haveplayed on.

BUT i have been thinking about buying a playstation 3, i did get my 360 not this christmas just gone but the christmas before that one, and since then i have always ALWAYS been a Playstation guy from the PS1,PS2,PSP, but the PS3 just has not had any appeal about it since there is just a whole bunch of games that are better on the 360 than the PS3 like, Gears Of War, Halo 3, BioShock etc......just to name a few.

But iamserisouly thinkingabout getting one and i wanted to ask you guys if there any point to it. One thing also that might swade me to getting one is being able to play old PS2 games on the PS3, now we all know that the Xbox 360 can do this, but i actually dont know if the PS3 can do it, so i wanted to ask can the PS3 also play games like: God of War 1 & 2, Resident Evil 4, and so on......also if you huys could reccomend any PS3 games that are great but are exclusive to the PS3 that i dont know about?, and 1 more thing is the online on the PS3 free because that is one of the bad things about Xbox Live it isnt!.

But once and i would really appreciate any help that you guys and girls lol can give to me. THANKS!!!!!

but pretty much uncharted apparently is the show stopper. then after that i'm probably getting heavenly sword and resistance fall of man.

If you have the money I would say get it, but personally in my opinion, dont expect the same gaming experience you can get from your 360 right now. Its hard to compete with the enjoyment of the game library 360 has right now. Now dont take me as a hater, cause I'm not. I just recently bought a PS3 and it has some amazing features, the ability to play blu-ray out of the box is nice and the PSN-Store is really cool... a part of me likes it better than the Marketplace. However if you are into shooters and shooters only I think the 360 handles them better, I love the layout of the 360 controller far better than the sixaxis when it comes to FPS games. But as you have read on other threads the PS3 has a amazing line up this year with alot more exclusives coming to it than the 360. Also if you want backwards compatiblity try finding a 60gb on ebay or buy a 80gb, just know that the 80gb is emulated so it doesnt support as many games as the 60gb.

Well, thats my 2 cents worth and I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying the 360 is currently the more fun of the two, but its my opinion and I'm not stating it as fact. Plus if any of you people are true gamers and want to get the best experience you'll own both consoles, not just one.

You could upgrade the harddisk space but you still wouldn't be able to play PS2 games. And I didn't see if anyone else answered this but PS network is free

If you can afford it go for it. PS3 is awesome and has many games the X360 doesn't including action games like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Platformers like Ratchet and Clank. If you are a shooter fan currently the two best shooters are COD4 and Unreal. Unreal exclusive to PS3. I think it's a harder justification if you own an X360 already, but you can't go wrong with PS3. Just so you know UT3 is not an exclusive, its just a timed release, its slated to come out in May (GameStop) for Xbox360

Guys a quick update to what i did anyway, since i thought to myself that there are not enough good games out for the PS3 and in the future also, i have decided to buy a new slimline PS2, with God of War 1 & 2, and RE4 and a few others for just over a £100 which was a good deal i thought, but thanks for all the help aswell.
