Okay, so I've narrowed my game list down to these groups, but need help picking one from each group. Just to make sure...I don't need internet to install 2 and brotherhood from ezio trilogy right? This is the same with KZ1 in KZ collection? Some Details: I don't have broadband, so I don't have PSN, which means I can't play online. Because of this, I mostly play open world/sandbox games like fallout 3, skyrim, and many others. Groups 1-3: Collections Group 1: Ratchet and Clank collection vs. Jak and Daxter collection vs. Sly collection Group 2: Killzone collection vs. Resistance collection vs. Metal Gear Solid collection vs. Orange Box Group 3: AC Ezio collection vs. Uncharted Dual Pack vs. Ico/SotC Group 4 & 5: Singe Title Open Worlds Group 4: Farcry 2 vs. Borderlands vs. Fallout: New Vegas Group 5: Batman: Arkham City vs. Prototype vs. Infamous 2 Group 6: Scary/Solid Stories Bioshock vs. Dead Space Hopefully this will give me my list of games to buy for my birthday, and hopefully some of the prices will drop by then too. Also, what do you guys think of getting the first AC, and what do you think of PS3 All-Stars Battle Royale.

You don't need internet just for installs.

1- Ratchet. J & D is frustrating in places (Jak II mainly), the Sly series gets too reliant on mini games. The Ratchet trilogy is just consistently damn good.

2- Depends if you can play MGS1. You can't go wrong with either MGS or TOB. Don't go for KZ/Resistance over those if you can't play online.

3- You like open world games so AC is your safest bet. Avoid AC 1 which is dull and might put you off the series. Just read the plot of the first game online before you dive into Ezio's trilogy. Uncharted and ICO aren't open world games but worth playing when you get the chance.

4- Easily Fallout: NV; I take it you enjoyed 3. Far Cry 2 is horrid and Borderlands will feel repetitive long before F: NV. The main draw of that game is co-op.

5- Batman or Infamous are equally solid. Probably better to play the predecessors first.

6- I prefered the atmosphere, setting and gameplay of Bioshock. It's not really "scary" in the way Dead Space is though.

The Ezio Trilogy is awesome. I hated the first Assassin's Creed, but my youngest daughter liked it and wantedthe Ezio Trilogy for Christmas and man am I happy I got her it. I have already beaten AC2 and loved it. Playing through Brotherhood now and it is just as fun, plus fixes some of the issues I had with AC2 like the money issues.

i think ps3 all stars is a fun game, but better if you have friends/family to play with, otherwise it could potentially get boring, especially with the lack of modes. I say get: Group 1 - Ratchet & Clank Collection - All 3 games are just amazing, the other 2 collections are good...but not as good imo as r&c group 2 - I would get either the resistance or metal gear solid collection - killzone games are not that great offline, and the orange box is a horrible port with many load times. group 3 - Personally I get bored of playing 2 AC games after the other.. I would ge tthe uncharted pack group 4 - Stay away from the 2nd farcry..its horrible.. havnt played fallout NV, borderlands is great..so get that group 5 - Batman AC or infamous 2 are both great games, cant go wrong with either. Group 6 - Both are great, cant go wrong with either.

Actually three games in the Ezio trilogy.

Well, I have inFamous and beat it, played part of Bioshock and Arkham Asylum (my brother sold them...). The thing about Rachet though is how much play time is there? I heard they were short individually, and what about replay value? While I don't mind playing a linear, once-through game now and then, a few open world components are nice. To think about it...Bioshock was kinda scary, but for me, I want a game that really gets my heart going, and the best way to scare me personally is something I don't expect, the jumpy kind of scary. So is Bioshock worth buying for the story? And Group 2, I know they're all shooters and no open-worlds even a little really...but I want a decent shooter in my collection. Group 3, I've already played/beaten AC3...to be honest, I'm buying them for the story, but mostly for the open world. I've also beaten Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, but once again, sold, and I figure if I'm gonna get two, then I may as well buy the dual pack... Does this change anything or help you decide more maybe?...

Okay, a few more things...will any of these game's prices drop or probably drop by late April? Also, I've heard Jak and Daxter is open world, is this also true for Rachet and Clank? Is MGS open world? What about the Orange Box?

1. Ratchet and Clank

2. Not sure

3. Uncharted

4. Borderlands

5. I actually enjoyed Batman Arkham Asylum more than Arkham City

6. Dead Space

As for the original Assassin's Creed, although it has it's flaws it really is a great game.

Sorry for writing so much in advance. Okay, so I've narrowed it down and thought about it, and looked at prices...hopefully some prices will drop, but if they don't, here's where I stand. Group 1: Ratchet and Clank collection vs. Jak and Daxter collection Group 2: Removed Group 3: Ezio Trilogy vs. Uncharted Dual Pack Group 4: Borderlands vs. Fallout: New Vegas Group 5: Batman: Arkham City vs. inFamous 2 Group 6: Bioshock vs. Dead Space Reasons: Group 1: J & D and R & C seem much better than Sly. Group 2: I didn't realize the prices of some games in this list, and I don't really need shooters. Group 3: Ico/SotC doesn't seem as good as others. Group 4: Farcry 2 doesn't seem as good as others. Group 5: Prototype is older and doesn't seem to have much of a story. Questions: Group 1: I've hear J & D: 2 & 3 are open world with a lot more to do after you finish the story (or at least you can go around stealing vehicles, fighting guards, etc) . Is Rachet and Clank like this? This will pretty much be the decide it; I'm not going to pay more for R & C if it has less content and less to do, even though the story, game play, and weapons look a lot better. Group 2: I have a budget of approx. $120 when my birthday comes. Adding a game from Group 2 will cost too much, plus the fact that shooters only last as long as their campaign. I'm also thinking of removing Group 4 or 5 depending on what other games I decide on or if I'd rather have 2 games from 1 group instead of one of the games from those groups. Group 3: I'm really leaning on Ezio Trilogy even though it's more expensive because a) more games b) more content c) open world d) I've already played Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. So please give me your opinions on this one especially. Group 4: I'm thinking a little about getting rid of this group...mainly because Borderlands is starting to seem more and more like it was built for multiplayer, and Fallout: New Vegas is seeming too close to being Fallout 3. I don't want a game that's very close to a game I already have unless it's a sequel, which I still hope would be different. So is Fallout: New Vegas distinct from Fallout 3 besides the story? Do the worlds look different, are there different guns, different armor, etc. Group 5: I'm also thinking about getting rid of this group, but not a lot, as inFamous 2 and Batman: Arkham City both seem like amazing games. Once again, which has more to do after the story and doesn't get boring fast. I know inFamous is open world, but there isn't a lot to do in it afterwards. Is inFamous 2 like this as well, or is there stuff do besides blast shards, dead drops, etc. Like side missions that actually impact the world or something like that...and what about Arkham City, is there stuff to do after it's story? Group 6: I'm really leaning towards Dead Space...seems scarier...very scary...but I'm still considering Bioshock. Okay, now if you think it would be better to get 2 games from one group then one game from another group, please tell me, and make any game suggestions you like! (but please try to stay around $20 per game) A few really cheap games I'm looking at are Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, Red Faction: Armageddon and Red Faction: Guerrilla, F.E.A.R. 1 and maybe 2, Mafia 2, Alpha Protocol, Dragon Age: Origins, Little Big Planet, and possibly a transformer game. I would get these to fill in for a group I get rid of, or even getting rid of Group 2 I might have enough room to get a cheaper one like Mercs 2 or Alpha Protocol. Well, I think that's everything...so...please answer!

Group 1: Ratchet isn't open world like Jak II/III, you go from one planet to another. Once the game's finished, it's finished. However the series does have a Challenge mode which serves as New Game+. (Not sure if Ratchet 1 has this). You keep your weapons & upgrades from the 1st playthrough and can upgrade them even further, enemies are tougher, more arena challenges are unlocked and so on.

Group 3: Go for the Ezio trilogy then. There's a lot more to do in 3 AC games than 2 Uncharted games.

Group 4: It's not worlds apart from Fallout 3 to be honest. I'd say forget Fallout/Borderlands and get Demon's Souls or/and Dark Souls instead. The latter is open world. Both games are nothing like the open world RPG's you already mentioned.

Group 5: I don't remember a whole lot of post-game activities in either game. Just a continuation of the side things you did during the story, riddles, blast shards, etc.

If you like open world games I recommend Just Cause 2 over Mafia, Red Faction and Mercenaries. It's absolutely huge and the gameplay is pure over the top fun.
