Topic pretty much says it all. Getting bored with MW3 multiplayer and looking for something new to play. I loved fallout and FO new vegas and was hoping to get something along those line although I will pretty much except anything that is from a 1st person point of view. It seems like most of the games that have gotten good reviews have been from the 3rd person point of view and I am really not into those. Anyone got any suggestions? I know people are in love with skyrim but I kinda want something where I can shoot people or things and not use a sword.

If you haven't already, pick up the Uncharted series. They're exceptional. Infamous and it's sequel are also really well done. (Though in them you get superpowers not guns... so I'm not sure if that'll make a huge difference or not.) Perhaps some Grand Theft Auto 4? Though they're all 3rd person games. Though if you do want more FPS action and something a bit like Fallout, RAGE (by Bethesda) might be more interesting to you. (Surprisingly Rage isn't glitchy either... I've yet to run into a problem with it and I'm about 12-15 hours in.) Though Rage does have a bit of racing in it so it might not fit your tastes exactly. Borderlands Game of the Year edition could also be of interest. (Though it's best if you have some friends who have it to go multiplayer with.) Bioshock is also extremely good and definitely worth a look. (Set in an alternate 1950's style environment, destroyed landscape with crumbling society. )

Yeah, you can pick up the first 2 Uncharteds in abundle, I think around $30. And the third one might be a little more expensive, but it's also very good.

Infamous as well is a very good series. I prefer the 2nd over the 1st, but you might not understand it fully, so I recommend getting both.

I also recommend LBP2. It doesn't really fit with your gaming type that you mentioned, but you may want to try it out.

Could try out Borderlands or Rage, both are similar stylistically to FO but are FPS games, not RPGs (well, Borderlands kinda). Other FP games I recommend include Deus Ex:HR and Mirror's Edge. And if you haven't tried Resistance 3 or Killzone 3, both of those are great shooters, for either SP or MP.

Killzone 2 and 3 are both good for campaign and multiplayer. Plus KZ3's campaign is splitscreen.

I would recommend uncharted but I would have to disagree with the poster above..although it is only his opinion if you are into call of duty alot then I doubt you will like killzone. I tried it and did not like it all but you can always play a demo or something to not waste your money.

If you wanna play a co op story mode game then I would recommend borderlands it was great.

Battlefield 3, much more in depth than MW3.

lol @ everyone who can't read...

BF3 - Similar to cod just don't expect to get anything out of the single player because it sucks, but you'll play online for a long time. If you go with this try to see if any LE versions are still available because the back to karkand maps are great.

Skyrim - No online but a great single player game, ya it's got it's issues and bugs but it's still great and will offer something similar to what fallout did, just better, you could easily get 100-150 hours of out of game.

Deus Ex Human Revolution - This game is just amazing, sneaking, shooting, great soundtrack, amazing atmosphere, good story, huge replayablity.

Crysis 2 or even the first one from PSN - the online is horrid, but the campaigns are great fun and pretty long.

thanks for all the suggestions. I should have mentioned RAGE in the orginal post, I loved this game and if I couldn't find anything new I was consdering just playing it through again. I dont need multiplayer, just looking to play around. Also I have the uncharted series.

I saw some vids of Killzone 3 and that campaign looks like it is worth beating at least one time. I also thought Deus looked good, but then I see some people complaining you can't really go around shooting everyone you have to sneak around and play stealth which to me seems like it could get boring if that is what I have to do the entire time.

I can't believe in 2012 there isn't at least 1 awesome game coming out every month, I guess I need Fallout 4 to just come out already.

Definetely Bioshock series or Borderlands. Both have great storylines and are alot of fun to play. Borderlands 2 and Bioshock infinite are both coming out this year I believe so you'll have yet another sequel to both.
