Hey everyone, I am a new PS3 owner, got it for Christmas.. and I LOVE it. But last night I was trying to play Champions of Norrath (PS2) with some friends, and it wont let me connect. I have an 80 gig system, and the game plays fine, but when I try to join my buddies on line, it wont let me create a Network Setting. It says "No Hardware is Connected" What do I need to do to make this work?

Have you tried playing any other game online to see if any of your other games work?

For me to play ps2 games online all i had to do was create a Network setting and save it to my created ps2 memory card on the ps3 harddrive. Make sure your Network settings are correct.

Ive been playing socom 2 and CA wireless through my ps3 just fine without any problems... Also Resident Evil Outbreak before it was shutdown.

I also have the 80gig model so my guess is you're entering your network settings incorrect.

I don't know if it's still there but there was a PS2 data emulator that could be downloaded from PSN not that long ago. This was a emulator that would create the correct settings for on-line PS2 games.

I dont think I have any other PS2 online games. And CoN wont let me enter any network settings... it says something like my hardware is missing when I try to set up my connection. :( Any other ideas?

Did you check to see if the PS2 data download is still on the PSN store because it had patches for PS2 games that needed or used a HDD.

Yeah, it is. And it didn't help. I also put the disk that came with my slim PS2 into the system and it let me create a connection. champions of Norrath sees that connection, but it still says no hardware is connected. Can anyone get CoN to work on an 80 gig (playing on line) ?????

Well it does work for me. Although ill specify i have a 60 gig, maybe its the emulation software. Our best bet would be to call Sony and ask if its a known problem. If it is known there might be a way to work around it. If not, report it. You can't fix a problem if you don't know you have it.

Since its a Sony entertainment game i'm sure they at least have an idea of what the problem is.

I haven't tried calling, but I have been posting on the official forums... and everyone there is clueless. I have a friend who has the 60 gig, and it plays fine for him... so I fear it is an 80 gig issue. Can anyone with an 80gig play Champions on line?
