need help please about the ps3 game boxes

What does it means the globe with the number 1 in the side of the ps3 games?? i'm from europe and im here in america and i want to get games to my ps3 in israel. what does it means the number with the globe sign in the side of the boxes of the games?? here in the us it shoes globe with the number "1".

it means region 1 which is usually NA. ur ps3 will play any game from any region. But it wont play different region blu-rays or dvds. I dont exactly know what the other region numbers are but thats what it means.XturnalS

That is howI understand it too, I thinkthere are like 4 regions or something, not sure exactly, I'm guessing Europe, NA, Austrailia, Asia, I've seen region 4 games on ebay. From what I knowits region free gaming and region locked bluray.
